After years of referring my clients to other vendors and offering advice on the many aspects of a wedding, I have begun to expand my business to include wedding and event planning. I have accumulated quite a Rolodex of contacts in the industry and have long gone to them for help. In the fall of 2004, I helped clients with the details of their wedding in New York City. The bride and groom were on separate continents, and there were many facets of the event that needed professional attention (see testimonial).

The success of my first wedding gave me the confidence to offer my services as a planner to calligraphy clients who were planning a destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas. They took me up on it and I immediately found myself having (challenging) daily phone conversations with various vendors in Mexico — regretting those eight years of French I took; desperately searching the Internet for flowers that would be available and affordable there in February; and e-mailing pictures of cakes, flowers, centerpieces, and chuppahs to vendors. Upon my arrival in Cabo, I found that no amount of planning in the States could have prepared me for the amount of work that remained to be done in a few short days. From supervising the construction of the chuppah on the beach for the ceremony to trying to understand and be understood by Spanish-speaking vendors to making and delivering gift bags, putting together favor boxes, tying flip-flops together with individual tags to moving the entire reception inside because it rained on the wedding day, all the while having to keep up with the calligraphy, I didn't have a minute to rest...but the finished product was a huge success and it all turned out beautifully.
