Teachers can create jump off pages to help students
find SOL information on the WWW.
PowerPoint and Kid Pix can be used to create slide shows to enhance jump off pages.
Questions can be created by teachers to
determine which URLs would be appropriate for
searching the WWW to research information.
This allows better use of time in the classroom and
lets students stay on task.
Check out the Jane Addams picture exhibit to help you introduce Jane Addams
to grade 1 students. I made a Kid Pix slide show with the information about Jane Addams and the I showed grade 1
students pictures of Jane as she grew from a small child to an adult using this site.
The Johnny Appleseed sites offer helpful information.
Second grade teachers check out the Susan B. Anthony site. Take a tour of
her house. This site has a biography of her and a timeline. There is a reference page to the Susan B. Anthony
Dollar Coin.
Grade 4 teachers check out Patricia Polacco's homepage about her
