LIFE
My name is Mike. I was born on cold October day (the 21st) in 1980. I spent much of my childhood either running from inner fears of divulging in my two attainable loves, music and writing. High school was a snap. I graduated in 1998 from Weymouth High School near the top of my class and attended Northeastern University for about 1 year, majoring in History/Computer Science. Since my sophomore year in high school the words and experiences portrayed in my work came to life. All that can be conceived as hell for a teenager either personally affected me or someone I held dear for those few years when names are made and forgotten. Nowadays I enjoy hanging out with my friends(shoutouts to Chris, Lucy, Scott, Bill, Billy H., Mike, Heather, Kim, Uncle Steve, Dave, James, and anyone else I forgot), Playing billiards and pool, Rpg's, Reading novels and books of poetry, Druidism and it's never ending study of the olden ways, Music (Death, Black/Doom/Thrash Metal/Classical/Techno/Darkwave/Industrial/Some Pop, Rap and R&B), which I also love to compose. I'm still an amateur as far as writers go, but someday it is my dream to have my words be heard, wether in the pages of a book of poems or in the lyrics sheet you so commonly find in CD cases.
INFLUENCES
Many aspects of the media have influenced my thoughts, personal philosophies and works. From the horrors of war to the 6 O'clock newscast....nothing has slipped my mind. But the main influence of my work lies deeper in the human soul...emotion. I originally used poetry and music as a personal expression, an escape from reality, and a way to channel the anger and pain that I have experienced.
