Name: Grimm

Signature Quote: "For those times where firepower takes precedence."

Personal Email address: ReaderIIF@hotmail.com

  • Height: 15 m

  • Weight: Something appropiate for a magical engine of destruction its height.

  • Appearance: A customized copy of Zagato's Mashin. For those not conversant, a large, humanoid golem, looking like a anime mech with european style armour. The helm looks like a roman centurions helmet, complete with purple plume, over a impassive faceplate with glowing purple eyes. Coloured glossy black with silver trim, it bears a appropiately sized broadsword and kite shield, the shield embossed with a Blinking Rune. A large purple cloak for swirling dramatically, completes the ensemble.

  • Alternate Appearance: As above, but the armor is now a smoky grey with black trim, the cloak gunmetal blue.

  • Fighting Style: Assorted sword and shield arts, with traces of Cephiran swordsmanship.

  • Button Style: SF Zero 3.

  • Bio: Discovering the remains of a familiar looking Mashin in subspace, the Reader was shocked... but not so much that he didn't take notes before it broke up. From these notes(as well as a massive burst of inspiration and the unstable remains of a several magical war machines), the Reader created his own model.

Not as powerful as the original, but adapted to his style, Grimm has seen action on a few occasions, and has performed well.

  • Intro: Reader doesn't use Grimm that often for a variety of reasons. Still, there are occasions that call for a multi-story engine of destruction.

  • Theme Songs:

    • Game Theme: N/A (Blue Nothing)

    • Main Theme: Dance of the Curse (Escaflowne fight theme)

    • Vs Dan Robo: Better be Stupid (Weird Al Yankovic)

    • Vs Skribulous, Mecha Bahamut: Flying Dragon (Escaflowne)

  • Stage: Memory Plateau. For no apparent reason, an image of Tokyo Tower now joins the regular illusions.

  • Weapons:

    • Giant sized sword and shield.

    • Whatever magical artifacts he's deemed overpowered for normal confrontations.

  • Special Resources:

    • Flight.

    • Teleportation.

  • Openings:

    • 1st Round: An immense version of the Reader's regular purple-black portals opens up over the arena. Slowly, Grimm descends form the portal, cloak furled tightly about it. Settling to the ground, its eyes light up as it casts back its cape, and salutes formally with its sword.

    • Standard: Grimm begins the match kneeling with one knee on the ground, cloak draped about it. Rising, it salutes the opponent with its sword.

    • Vs. Mecha-Bahamut, Skrib: Performs regular opening & looks his opponent over. "Well, well. A dragon. How appropiate." Swipes the air with its sword."Come now sir, tis time to joust."

    • Vs. Dan Robo: Shakes head. "Some people just shouldn't get to pilot mechs."

    • Vs. The Ultima: Looks up at the Ultima. "Well, now I don't have to feel guilty at all..." As the last words are spoken, Grimm rises up into the air till its level with the Ultima's bridge, tossing back its cape and saluting with a flourish.

  • Taunts:

    • Flips sword in hand.

  • Finishing Poses:

    • Standard: Drives sword into ground and leans on it.

    • Alternate: Creates a portal behind itself, steps backwards and bows, letting it close.

    • Desperation: Sinks to one knee and leans on sword.

    • Flash Finisher: Reaches over and taps the black hole with its sword, dispelling its work and producing a much battered opponent(mechs will be severely warped and deformed, organic opponents will just look like hell).

  • Victory Quotes:

    • "That was perhaps... a little much..."

    • "Perhaps we should joust again some other time."

    • "The view from up here..."

    • "Just for the record, I have absolutely no desire to yell out a heroic cliche here."

    • (vs Sean)"Angst Child Shinji would have done better."

    • (Vs Skrib)"I've always wanted to take on one of you like this."

    • (Ultimate)"Feels... too good."

    • (Flash finish)"Oddly satisfying..."

  • Character Strategy: While piloting Grimm, Reader's fighting style changes somewhat. Now actually possesing projectile moves and a range game, Grimm moves from medium to long to short range rapidly, adjusting its attacks to suit. Never stay in one place or at a certain distance for too long.

  • Attacks:

    • Launcher:

      • Ready!: Shield slams the opponent and teleports them away from itself, high in the air. 4%

    • Command Normals:

      • Mystic Shield: Command block. Creates a spherical shield about Grimm. Will stop any and all attacks, but blocking specials and Supers drains his Super Bar. Specials will drain approx the same amount that they'd increase the opponent's bar, Supers drain about half the amount of the opponent's Super Bar spent. May be performed in mid-air as well as on the ground.

      • Shield block: Punches forward with the shield. Less range than the sword, but slightly better damage. 3%

      • Flight: You need a description?

    • Throws:

      • Go!: Holding the opponent by their neck with his shield arm, Grimm punches forward with the hilt of the sword. As the hilt connects, the Blinking Rune on the shield flashes, the opponent being forcibly teleported as far away as the screen allows. 8%

      • Here and There: Tossing the opponent into a portal, Grimm turns around and punches forward with its shield in time for the opponent, emerging from another portal, to smash into it. 10%

    • Specials:

      • Night Strike: Grimm points his sword and fires a thin beam of violet energy. 12%

      • Darkness Impact: Charges forward, shield extended. Good for chaining into or out of. 10%

      • Night Explosion: Tosses forward a small cluster of azure energy spheres, which produce a small(well for that scale) explosion of energy. Stregth of button determines the range of attack. 13%

      • Silver Death: Performs a two handed overhand slash, leaving behind a thin trail of silvery energy. 11%

      • Thunder storm: Slashes downwards with sword, a lighning bolt streaking down from the sky, following it and striking the ground just in front. Little damage on its own, but if the opponent gets caught in it, mash buttons for a successive series of bolts to slam into them while the're trapped, the number of bolts determined by the mashing. 6% for initial, each follow up does another 2%, max 12% total.

      • Silent Wings(while in air): Swoops down, sword extended, slashing at the opponent as it passes. 8%

      • Spatial Reflect: Same as in regular profile.

      • Teleport: Same as usual, though due to the Laws of Drama, he now disapears and appears in a flash of violet light.

    • Supers:

      • Void Gift: Tosses a small sphere of violet towards the opponent. The field fails and detonates the antimatter at a distance depending on punch button used- lp=1/3 screen, mp=2/3, hp=full screen, or when the sphere contacts with the opponent. Explosion is roughly three bodies in radius, so it is possible for Grimm to get crossed in the blast. 25%

      • Tsuiho: Grimm introduces the opponent to the heat of the sun by opening a portal to the photosphere in front of itself, sending forth a pillar of flame. Can be dodged if the opponent gets in too close, moving behind the portal as it forms. 25%

    • Desperation:

      • Blade fury: Charging forward, Grimm unleashes a Renzokokuen-esque series of two-handed slashes at the opponent. If the move is blocked, Grimm will stop after doing about 8%. If not, after about a dozen slashes, it'll jump back, and toss away its shield, producing a second blade from nowhere. Holding both blades at its side, Grimm then charges forward and slashes once, twice, three times, before impaling them on both blades, tossing them into the air, catching them in a large sphere of blazing green energy. 50%

    • Ultimate Attack/Summon:

      • Power of Possesions: Stepping backwards, Grimm holds its blade high in the air, letting a sudden bolt of lightning descend from the sky and energize it. Following this, damage received is halved, speed is doubled, for about 5s.

    • Flash Finisher:

      • Black Hole: Channeling energy through its sword, Grimm tosses its shield at the opponent. If it connects, it'll stun them long enough for the rest of the move to work. Regardless, Grimm then charges forward and attempts to impale them on its sword. If it suceeds, it then paralyzes them in a violet energy field, followed by its withdrawing the sword and slashing the character 'kong'(void) in the air. Once the character is finished, the energy field suddenly expands and turns black, before shrinking rapidly, compressing the unfortunate soul caught in it, collapsing them into their own personal black hole.

    • Team Helper:

      • Charges out of a portal performing [Darkness Impact].

    • Team Supers:

      • Portals in and performs a [Void Gift].

  • Glitches:

    • During [Power of Possesions], the Reader's portrait will be tinted blue and gold alternately, a small clock hovering over its head.

  • Motivations:

Scrap whatever giant-sized foe that needs it.

  • How Grimm talks:

Whilst piloting Grimm, the Reader's speech tends more towards the ominous and archiac.

  • How Grimm acts:

In Grimm, the Reader's personal firepower is vastly increased, and his fear of consequences diminished accordingly. Just one of the reasons he doesn't use it so often.
