This interesting pot with a spout is filled through an opening in the base. When upright, the liquid does not come back out through the opening. There must be a channel that then empties from the top into a basin where the spout is attached and then can be tipped out. What was it used for? Oil, hot water? The painting looks like cloisonne, but is actually outlined in paint. It measures about 6" tall. The color is not quite as bright as the photos, but very colorful. The bowl measures about 7.5" long by 5.5" wide by 2.5" tall. The underglaze has more of a blue tone than the pot. There is a mark, but it appears to be an incomplete stamp? The inside of the bowl has many impurities. I'm trying to determine age, pattern, use, and value. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please click on the thumbnails for a larger image.
