In order to use the engine (106,000 kms) and to get some spare parts I've cut down this slovenian-made parts car through the summer of 1999. If I had known then, I'd probably haven't tried this kind of job. It has taken me a lot more time than I planned when I started to work. The GS car is engineered in such way, that many parts are barely reachable. Only Frenchmen can think of such an unpractical car. But I'm still a Citroën fan. Here you'll find some photos in process of cutting the car.

The GS wreck. Load size 67 kbytes.
Citroën GS 1.3 beyond repair in my backyard. The engine has passed 106,000 km.
I've lifted the car off the ground - and securely fitted it on axle stands.
The GS wreck. Load size 52 kbytes.
The interior before. Load size 90 kbytes.
The interior - in good condition -
before and after...
The interior afterwards. Load size 58 kbytes.
The engine before removal...
The engine. Load size 71 kbytes.
The roof has been cut off...
The top has been chopped off...
Without the roof and doors... Notice the rust (arrow)!
The weak point! Rust under the rear seat and above the rear wheels.

One heavy cut more to go. The photo was taken on 11th of August, 1999 - between the eclipse of the sun.
Nearly finished...
