The Princess by: Julian Fritz
Once Upon a time, in a land far far away
A princess fair in beauty and her prince beside her lay
"On what day won't you love me?" Princess questioned with a sigh.
And he said, "None forever," when she asked him to reply.
And careful did he hold her heart, she allowed to touch.
"Princess of Sweet Divine," he said, "I love you very much."
The clouds grew thick and rain began to fall out from the sky...
The prince grabbed his love and took her safe under a tree nearby.
And in his human arms she held him silent in the rain.
And swore her every living breath was his and would remain.
"Come run away with me my love, and live forever more...
live where the ocean meets the sand and dance upon it's shore.
We'll capture every rainbow, and we'll treasure every snow."
The princess smiled with such delight and promised she would go.
Agreed they then, would meet again, Midnight under that tree
"And cometh you tonight," she said, "beneath it I will be."
And with her arms wrapped on his neck, she kissed him very light
And their finger tips departed, and they waited for the night.
But when the sun went down, and the moon arose at last...
The wind moved swift, and the rain was dense and the thunder roared and crashed.
She sat upon her windowsill and the Princess's sadness hrew
She saw the lightning far too fierce and hoped her prince had too
The Prince waited there by the tree, and was shivering with cold.
And his princess crying in the window watched the sky explode.
The storm had opened up it's lightning crashing on his head...
And the princess ran outside to find her lover's life had passed....
And wished every first night after that she'd been there for his last.
