The four year dream of Kira's to cross her Mustang mare to an Arabian stallion was realized when after keeping us in suspense for an extra week and a half, Just Me Being Me (I.A.H.A. 1A 340237) entered the world on Saturday, July 29, 2000. Chase is a/an half-Arabian/Abstang colt, by the registered Arabian stallion Crossffyre (A.H.R. 541771), and out of the registered Mustang mare Cassay (B.L.M. 241454). I am going to double-register him with the American Mustang and Burro Association, Inc., as he qualifies for not only half-Arabian registration, but half-Mustang registration as well. He is a grey, but was born chestnut, with a star, blaze, snip covering both nostrils, a left fore fetlock, a right fore pastern, and a left hind pastern. He is now more of a seal/chocolate brown to black color, rather than the "pure" chestnut color he was born as. I hope he will make a good English or Country Pleasure horse! He is VERY up headed! Chase has VERY impressive bloodlines - he is a great great great grandson of *Skowronek (2 crosses back), a great great grandson of *Raffles, and a great grandson of *Bask++, to name a few of the impressive horses in his pedigree. When I decided to breed my mare to Crossffyre, I had no idea what his bloodlines were, other than somewhere he had *Bask++ in him! Now, with Chase at 6 months of age, I am just starting to find out Crossffyre's lineage, and I couldn't be more estatic about the strong Arabian halter influence he gave to Chase, especially since I love showing halter, and one of my goals with Chase is to show him in 1/2 Arabian halter classes.
