The B-600 Goes To Work

I got my first job July 5th. For four days, I worked at Clark and Reid International, where they do executive relocation (if an executive at a company is transferred, Clark and Reid orchestrates the moving of his/her belongings, arranges for the plane tickets, etc.). There I was an assistant in I.S. (Information Services) where I set up and installed software on computers. My mother also works at Clark and Reid International in the purchasing department. While my mother has her own office, I dwelled in cubicle-land. My bench was also the test-bench for computers. On my second day, I decided to bring in a couple of things, one of which was my TransOceanic. People who saw it were awed. Unfortunately, all the computers in the office, combined with the iron used in the building, drowned out radio signals almost completely. The next two days I used patch cords to use the B-600 as an amplifier for my personal stereo (at a low volume level, of course). I hoped that having the B-600 in the "office" would tell people that I collect old radios, and possibly get me one or two. On Monday July 10, they told me I had done all the work required of me for the time being, and they didn't need me again until mid-August. Unfortunately, around that time, I was told that they had hired a new I.S. manager, and no longer needed me :-( . Oh well... -Adam
