PRAYER TO A FORCE RECON MARINE OR CORPSMAN

THE WORLD FORGETS ITS HEROES HONORS, GALLANTRY, AND VALOR ARE JUST TRINKETS, WHEREVER MERE MORTALS DWELL. A FALLEN FORCE RECON MARINE, A SON, A BROTHER, A WARRIOR, IN HIS LASTING SLEEP, WITH BRIGHT BANNERS FLYING PROUDLY AND COMRADES HAVING SPOKEN OF PAST EPICS, YOUR BROTHERS ONCE AGAIN RENEW THEIR PLEDGE TO LOYAL WARRIORS-- "YOU HAVE NOT DIED IN VAIN." SOON FORGOTTEN BY THE MULTITUDES AS YOU TREAD THE SHORES OF TIME, WE HAVE COME TO BURY YOU, BUT, UNLIKE CEASAR-- WE HAVE COME TO PRAISE AND LAUD YOUR MEMORY. FAREWELL, COMRADE-IN-ARMS AND FRIEND. SEMPER FI

I TRULY ADMIRE AND RESPECT EACH ONE OF YOU FOR YOUR COURAGE. YOU WENT WHEN YOU WERE CALLED AND YOU SERVED YOUR COUNTRY HONORABLY.

BE PROUD OF THAT ALWAYS

OUR GOVERNMENT DIDN'T FOOL US...WE ALL KNOW WHO SHOULD BE HANGING THEIR HEADS IN SHAME....AND WHO IN THE END WILL HAVE TO MAKE THEIR PEACE WITH GOD.WE LIVE IN A FREE COUNTRY BECAUSE OF THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO FOUGHT TO

KEEP US FREE AND I THANK YOU AND I HONOR YOU.

Our goverment ignores its soldiers of liberty after they return from the hell they were sent to. Hundreds of known Pows were left to rot in Vietnam and other countries. These Pows have familys, wives, children, and parents that want to know where their son, daughter, mother, father, brother, or sister is. Do their loved ones still wonder and cry? These people feel hatred and complete animosoty towards the goverment for leaving them there. Their past life is like a dream. Many of them have forgotten even how to speak english. The last pow left Vietnam almost 26 years ago. that is almost forty years some of these people have been there. What is it like to be captive like an animal that long. They had hope that their goverment would get them back but how long did it last. They know by now the war is over do they wonder then why are they here made to work and be tortured and recive scant food. but It is the policy of the U.S. goverment to leave these Pows and try to negotiate. These men and women are considered lost causes and would take to much time money and effort to get them back. These people fought for liberty and justice but there will be no justice for them they will be forgotten by the goverment but not by us. Those who were there rember them and feel there pain. The living vets of the war want justice and these men found and brought home. So these U.S. soldiers are left with the hope that one day they may return to the U.S. But once back what will they have waiting for them. Nothing. These men like the men of desert storm and many men of Vietnam came back and were not healthy. Many had gotten agent orange or gulf sickness. But the Goverment could and would not except the fact it was from things they encountered in battle. These men recived no help from the govermnet which is supposed to help them in this their time of need. It was a long time before the goverment offered help to those who are affected by agent orange or by gulf sickness. How long can a man with no hope last how long before he dies of hoplessnes. They may have forgotten but we never will
