I find VHS Video the easiest way to learn the
fingering and techniques of playing the guitar. It's like having a guitar instructor
that you can rewind. This way you can learn at your own pace. Once you feel that
you have all the basics down, go and find a good instructor to help polish your
skills.
You can also learn alot by jamming with others at or slightly above your skill level.
