Metaphysicians For a Better Tomorrow: A Nobilis Campaign

Over the millennia, humanity has tried many tools for improving their lives: magic, religion, science, and others lost to time or sense. All have failed at some level. Our organization is dedicated to improving the lot of humanity, and to do so, we will use a technique never attempted before: direct metaphysical rewriting of reality.

The gentleman to my left, let us say, is a metaphor for all the wrong in the world. I shall now flog him. One blow, and the cruel empires of the East put down their swords. A second blow, and the armies of the world return to their farms. A third, and heathens everywhere adopt true faith and piety. With this method, simple, safe, and just, shall the world be remade as a vision of Paradise.

Centuries ago, in a world forever lost, humanity spread across all the worlds of the solar system, ruling a vast empire. Unsatisfied, they continued to spread, their beautiful ships reaching toward other worlds on the Great Tree.

An Imperator wiped away this empire, setting humanity along the timeline it has taken up until the present day. But now, the time cycles are aligning. Memories are returning. Strange and wondrous creatures and machines are appearing. And behind it all, the Dark Horsemen move to destroy and consume the life and beauty of both times.
