This is a drawing of a beaver lodge with the family. On shore, a beaver fells a small tree. Inside the lodge, where the floor is raised above water level, the family can stay warm and dry all winter. You can see water channels inside the mound. This is where the beavers swim in and out of the lodge year round to gather food to eat and to swim around and play.
