It's The End Of The Tour As We Know It...

...and I feel fine.

So the first leg comes to an end with two shows in Foxboro, Massachusetts. This turned out to be one of the best experiences I've had on this tour (although I hope more are to come!).

At the risk of inspiring flames, I have to share this little tale of lemon love from the second show in Boston. Thanks to Sherry and Ruby, my partners in lemon, and Chris, for not having me committed. :-)

Before the show, Sherry, Ruby and I went to WalMart, about ten minutes away from the stadium, in search of little plastic lemons. We're not sure whose idea it was, originally, but someone commented that it would be nice to have fake fruit to toss around during the concert. So we hightailed it to the 'Mart and found small, mesh bags of undersized lemons, as well as actual-sized, in the crafts section, and bought about $20 worth. We wrote goofy messages on them and during the show handed them out to anyone who walked past - McGuinness, Stuart (Adam's bass tech), Howie B. We held them up when Bono would walk past during a song; at one point he saw one that said "THANK YOU" on it and laughed. After With Or Without You, a few people hurled their lemons to the stage. :-)

Later, at the hotel, as Bono and Edge came down the line signing autographs, Ruby had the distinction of saying, "Will you sign my lemon?" to Bono. :-) His reply, "Where are you GETTING all these lemons?" To which he recieved a resounding "WALMART!" from about six people. We gave him a lemon of his own, which he put in the front pocket of his horribly-tight pants, v e r y s l o w l y. };-V Edge merely thought his lemon was 'brilliant' - at least Bono gave it a place of honor. >;-) (Oh Lord...)

(As it stands, I heard that the lemons were sighted rolling around the halls of the hotel that night.)

So thus, the invasion of the lemon people. Below you'll find a special link that will take you to Lemonland...and beyond. :-)

Oh, and the shows? Eh, they were okay. ;-)

(Confidentially, the final show, 2 July, was the single greatest concert I have ever seen.)
