Formal Wear: The style of dress for beauty/formal is:
Up to age 6 - short gown – shoes white or dyed to match.
Age 7 to 11 – short style or floor length gown.
Age 12 & up floor length gown
Style is choice of the contestants.
Pro-Am Sportswear: The style of dress is fashion wear, vogue or glitzy. The outfit should not be casual, rather after 5 wear!Style of outfit is contestants’ choice.
Run-Way Modeling: The style of dress is vogue or off-the rack -- Think High Fashion! The outfit should not be casual (no jeans!) Style of outfit is contestants choice.
Outfit of Choice: Have Fun! Compete in Fifties Wear, Western Wear, Swim Wear, Sleep Wear, Patriotic Wear, Costume! The Style of outfit is contestants’ choice.
Formal Wear: The judging is based on Personality and Confidence, Modeling Ability, Stage
Presence, and Overall Appearance. (All Northern Belle Events)
Sportswear: Pro-Am Style Modeling or Runway Modeling Routines (Styles combined for one-day event) – Judging will be based on Stage
Presentation (smoothness of routine), Personality and Confidence, Modeling Ability for Age and Overall Appearances. (There will be a 1-point deduction per judge for dropped attire!)(All Northern Belle Events)
Note: Two-Day Pageants will have separate optional events for Pro-Am and Run-Way modeling - Criteria will remain the same for both styles.
Outfit of Choice: Either Pro-Am or Runway Modeling is acceptable. (See sportswear for judging
criteria).
Hair and Makeup: There will be no points deducted for hair and makeup on contestants under 12
years of age. Hair and makeup are the contestant’s choice.
Photogenic: Black and White or Color 8 X 10’s. Head shots preferred. Photographs will be judged
on Personality, Photogenic Appeal, Photo Quality (overall clarity and composition). (All Norhtern Belle Events!)
Talent will be judged on Stage Presence, Execution, Difficulty for Age, Entertainment Value. (All Northern Belle Events!)
Amateurs will compete first; Pro’s (or those with a past or present national title) will compete last
in their age divisions.
Tiebreakers will be:
Modeling: Personality and Confidence (all events) followed by Modeling
Ability
Photogenic: Personality followed by photogenic appeal.
Talent: Stage Presence followed by execution.
Camera’s and Video Equipment: Cameras will be allowed in the ballroom during awards only. An
area will be provided for those wishing to record the event.
Individual Score sheets will be available after the event.
Do not approach the judge’s table any time during the competition!
