Queenstown

Queenstown is to be found in Central Otago and can probably claim to be the most scenic place in New Zealand.It is situated on the shores of lake Wakatipu and is a popular tourist attraction. Queenstown began as a mining town when gold was discovered in the Shotover river in 1862. One of the steamships the “TSS Earnslaw” originally built to ply the waters of the lake is still being used today to transport tourists.

Here is also some of the countries finest skiing in the “Remarkables” a range of mountains and on “Coronet peak” This is also the home of New Zealands newest crazy invention “Bungy Jumping”
