5. What is revelation? read scriptures:
D&C 6: 11. And if thou wilt inquire, thou shalt know mysteries which are great and marvelous; therefore thou shalt exercise thy gift, that thou mayest find out mysteries, that thou mayest bring many to the knowledge of the truth, yea, convince them of the error of their ways.
D&C 8:1. ( verily, verily, I say unto you, that assuredly as the Lord liveth, who is your God and your Redeemer, even so surely shall you receive a knowledge of whatsoever things you shall ask in faith, with an honest heart, believing that you shall receive)
2. Yea, behold, I will tell you in your mind and in your heart, by the Holy Ghost, which shall come upon you and which shall dwell in your heart.
3. Now, behold, this is the spirit of revelation; behold, this is the spirit by which Moses brought the children of Israel through the Red Sea on dry ground.
D&C 9: 7 Behold, you have not understood; you have supposed that I would give it unto you, when you took no thought save it was to ask me.
8. But, behold, I say unto you, that you must study it out in your bmind; then you must cask me if it be right, and if it is right I will cause that your bosom shall eburn within you; therefore, you shall feel that it is right.
9. But if it be not right you shall have no such feelings, but you shall have a stupor of thought that shall cause you to forget the thing which is wrong; therefore, you cannot write that which is sacred save it be given you from me.
6. The pictures above are pictures of things you will find in D&C 6,8,9
Separate your family into 2 or 3 groups.
1st Group will read D&C:6, 2nd group, D&C: 8&9 (or 3rd group will read 9)
The groups will try to find the words that match the pictures and write them down.
The group that has the most words will win.
8. Ask family members what they know of Christ, Bear your testimony of him, and when you are through, tell them that through revelation you also can know that he lives. There is a difference between knowing of Him and knowing Him.
What is means to Know Christ
A man passed away and was resurrected and waiting in a room to be
interviewed. Another man was ahead of him. The door opened, the man
entered, the door closed. The man on the outside could hear the
conversation on the other side of the dooor. The interviewer began:
I want you to tell me what you know about Jesus Christ.
Well, he was born of a virgin in Bethlemhem; the lived thirty-three
years, spending the last three in His ministry orgnizing His chruch,
choosing His apostles to direct it, giving the gospel to direct our
lives.
The interviewer stopped him and sid: yes, yes, that's all true, but I
want you to tell me what you know about Jesus Christ.
Well, he was tortured and crucified that we might have eternal life.
Three days later He was resurrected that we might return to Heavenly
Father.
Yes, yes, that is true, but I want you to tell me what you know about
Jesus Christ. The man, a little perplexed, again began: Well, He
restored the Gospel in its fulness to the earth through Joseph Smith,
reorgnized His Church, gave us temples wherein we might do work to
save our dead. He gave us family prayer and family home evening where
we might unite with our families. He gave us the Priesthood to heal
the sick and personal ordinances for our salvation and exaltation.
The interviewer again stopped him and said: All of what you have said
to me is true. The man was then invited to leave the room. After he
left the door opened and the second man entered. As he approached the
interviewer he fell upon his knees and cried, "My Lord, My God."
