After we left Lotus Temple, Venk and I went to Krishna Temple in New Delhi. Now, when we went there Venk's father's driver drove us, and since we knew we would have to remove our shoes (feet are seen as dirty in Hindu religion, and shoes cannot be worn in temples), Venk suggested that we just leave our shoes in the car and just go to the temple in our bare feet. Well Venk had never been to this temple before, and little did we know that there was a long series of stairs and terraces to walk up to get to the temple at the top. And it was all stone flooring which burned our feet, as we quickly walked up the stairs and jumped back and forth to the white marble sections and areas in the shade.
This is the top of the Krishna Temple taken from one of the lower levels. (25 July 2002)
