This is just people walking up the stairs to the temple. You have to take off your shoes and leave them outside of the temple area. They put down burlap carpets to walk on so your feet wouldn't burn from the hot stone on the walking path/stairs, but even those got hot, and were rough on our feet. Walking on the smooth white marble was the best. It stayed relatively cool, even the areas exposed to the sunlight. (25 July 2002)
