It is now five years later (01-Jan-06). I survived several of the 6-month long Minnesota winters.

When I get some extra time, I will add more info on our life in Minnesota. The Benson family moved back to Winchester, MA USA in July 1999 after a terrific year in Europe. We moved back to 409 Main Street, Winchester, MA 01890 USA. But after Donna and the boys moved back, C&K asked if I would continue to work in Europe. I agreed and continued living in England. I ended up with almost 2 years of expatriate experience in Europe. C&K then asked me to work in Costa Rica. I added 6 more months of international living. It was fabulous to liver in Costa Rica. The weather around San Jose was just like Hawaii.
In July 2000, C&K sold out to ITT. This was devastatingly bad decison to the future of C&K. Fortunately, at the same time a similar company was interested in me. I accepted the Sr Vice President of Sales & Market at E-Switch in August 2000. I made a very good decision in changing jobs.
Effective September 2005, the C&K operation in Newton, MA will be gone. During the early months of 2005, they are moving their assembly machinery to China. Layoffs are being given out. The remaining people will be let go by the fall of 2005.
In December 2005, ITT announced that they would divest (sell off) the switch line. It will be done as quickly as possible.

We moved to England in 1998. The family cleared UK customs at Heathrow Airport on 12 September 98.
We lived in Guilsborough, England. Guilsborough is small village just over 1 hour north of London (northeast of Northampton). It is pronounced "Gills Burah"

If you were wondering - where is Bonnie?
She was studying abroad in Zimbabwe for 4 months in the fall of 1998!!!
She visited us for Christmas and returned to Smith College for the 1999 spring semester. In Zimbabwe, she spent her first 4 weeks in a grass shack with no running water or electricity. She learned introductory Shona - the native language. She went to a party in a grass hut and ended up dancing to the local drums. She wanted to live in a different culture and she is loving every minute of it. She went white water rafting on the Zimbabwe River. She stayed upstream where there were fewer crocidiles - Lovely!
