Well, since you came here, you obviously care about my boring lil OLP story. No, I didn't meet them (yeah, right, I wish!). This is just how I personally got started on OLP.
Once upon a time, there was a girl named Jill with very bad musical taste. One day, her friend Patti was at her house and they were listening to the radio and playing darts. Jill wanted to listen to the rap station, but Patti said no, so they listened to the pop station instead. A song came on, and Jill was like "What is this? I luv it!" but Patti had no clue. So they called up the radio station and asked what that song was. And the radio station person guy said it was "Clumsy" by a canadian band called Our Lady Peace. Jill was psyched cuz now she knew what that awesome song was. So they kept listening to the radio, but it never came back on, and it was time for Patti to go home. The next day, Jill went to Patti's house. They called the radio station ten times asking to play Clumsy, and finally it came on. Jill taped it, and made a copy for Patti. They were very happy with their new tape, and listened to it non-stop. After awhile, Patti was sick of Our Lady Peace, but Jill had an unsatifible craving for more music by them. She began looking for their CD. Patti told her not to get it, because Jill only knew one song they sang, but Jill couldn't help herself and went to Wal-Mart and they didn't have it. Jill went to Ames, and they had one copy left, so Jill bought it. She brought it to softball, and Clumsy became her team's theme song. However, Jill never got around to listening to the rest of the songs. About a week later, Jill got AOL, and started talking to people on the OLP message boards. They all said that OLP was awesome, so Jill took out her CD and played it through. It was the best CD she had ever heard! She put it on her CD player, and it never came off. Jill was now addicted to OLP. The Clumsy CD was all she ever listened to, except for the radio. She changed her radio station and started hearing other good bands, like Everclear, the Smashing Pumpkins, and Third Eye Blind, and rap was a thing of her past. So Jill kept expanding her musical tastes, and started to look for information on OLP, cuz she needed to know everything about them. She researched all the band members, and the band's history. She also got the same unsatisfiable yearning for new OLP music, so she sent away for their first CD Naveed. It came in the mail, and she played it through right away, and it was awesome! Now she had both OLP CD's always in her CD player. They never came out. Now Jill had another idea. She knew tons of stuff about OLP, so she decided to share it with the world. She got a notebook, and wrote everything she knew about OLP in it. Then she typed it into the computer and made it into a web page. Then OLP was on Lunch with Jesse. She watched it and taped it, even though she hates Jesse. Jill's friend Jen from Florda hadn't known OLP was on LWJ, so she didn't tape it. However, she had almost all of OLP's videos on tape. They decided to trade, so they could both have both things. Jill got her video in the mail, and Jen got hers, and everyone was happy. Now Jill has the disease of being an OLPaholic. She just can't get enough of them.
Well, that is my OLP history, and in case you can't tell, Jill is my name. Now you are officially smarter.
