Welcome! On behalf of the IMAF, welcome to our site. In 1999, several martial arts schools and individual artists formed the Independent Martial Arts Federation to better meet our needs and goals. All of us have been members of other organizations that did not serve their members. Politics, money issues, arbitrary and conflicting rules, and over-sized egos combined in these associations to overwhelm their supposed purpose for being: helping their members in the martial arts. We set out to establish a federation to assist in our development as martial artists and instructors. To that end, we have drawn up clear bylaws that set out the federation's goals, operating procedures and leadership. We hope you find our site informative and useful.
