A little bit about me

Just finished of my 4.5 years at Northeastern University, where I managed to escape from here a bit earlier than expected:). I concentrated in Management Information Systems (MIS/IT) and Finance and Insurance (I have no idea why). After a bad experience with summer sublets a while back, I decided that I am anti anything now that has to do with French, so that degree in international business has been tossed to the wind. But so far the MIS thing is working out nicely.

Go Huskies!!! See where I go to school.

The whole reason anyone actually goes to Northeastern is for the co-op program (Regardless of what President Freeland says). Through it, I started working for The Gillette Company, in IT Strategic Planning. I was the one who got to decide what hardware and software and stuff Gillette should use. It was pretty cool. And I spent way too much time designing MS access databases. All this time spent on all the databases (plus that pesky Data Management Class I had to take where Mike tried to show up my db skills) helped me to get my new position in the company as an Oracle Database Administrator. This job is pretty cool as well...I get to learn all sorts of nifty UNIX and Oracle/SQL Server things and I still get to play with databases (Now I have my own production environments to take care of). And I get to lord my UNIX knowledge over all those damn CS and CE majors who like to think they are so wonderful.

Gillette has been a great place to work for, especially for someone who is pretty young and trying to get used to this whole working for a living thing (yeah, I know I've been working for a long time now, but still). Doesn't hurt that they make tons of those everyday household things I use...I can buy razors, toothbushes and coffeemakers at a discount all at once. But the good thing is that they liked me so much they decided to hire me as a real employee...aka get paid 2x as much as a co-op for the same work. Even got a cell phone and a new laptop out of it, though I am now part of worldwide production support...woohoo, chained to a cell phone once every 2 months.

As a minion of The Gillette Company, I figured it would only be fitting to let all my friends see the power of the MACH3.

So now all of you may be asking (or most likely not), what I do in my spare time (what little of it there seems to be). The main stuff now besides watching TV (We need no channels other than NBC and the WB - I can't live without Friends) is playing with Belle the cat (BEWARE MODEM USERS), reading, and taking long walks that lead nowhere but allow me to laugh at lost tourists. All that, and my quest to get into permenant summer shape by working out at the gym at work quite a bit. Calves of steel.

Before I moved to the big city of Boston for college, I was living in a nice little Massachusetts town called Acton. There really isn't much to do in Acton, other than to hang out with friends and rent tons of movies. (To see why I'm as cynical as I am, check out my friend's homepages. Especially Alexa's).
You can now also take a look at the homelife: Pictures of Acton.
I graduated from Acton-Boxborough Regional High School in 1997, and I've been in Boston ever since. Nice city. Things to do.

after lack of use, I decided to delete my guestbook...I think I'll have to find some new toy to put there. In the interim, you can e-mail me.
