My Dad was a World War II Veteran...He was a hard worker and loved his family. After about 4 or 5 years, after his MaMa passed away. His health was slowly going down..Eventually he became bed ridden. I know this was hard for him since he was always active..

He stayed in the hospital for about a month..Slowly things got worse...The doctors brought us into a very small room, to tell us the only way My Dad would be able to live would be with the aid of a life support system. God, that hurt when they told us that, just like a knife stabbed us in the heart. So we knew, he didn't want to live that way..We prayed to God to let us make the right decision. So it was hard to tell the doctors remove Dad from the life support because we couldn't think about our feeling, just Dads needs. We were all in the room with him because we wanted him to know he wasn't alone. We lefted it in Gods hands, when the doctors removed his life support, then a MIRACLE HAPPENED..His Heart Was Beating! That was the happiest day of my life..My Dad survived for 3 days. He wasn't responding but we knew in our heart, that Dad knew we were there and we would never leave him. My sister, Lou told him we would take good care of Mama..it seemed like thats what he wanted to hear, because as soon as she said that he went to Heaven. We held hands around the bed and song "Amazing Grace". God it was so hard to say goodbye but we knew that he was in Heaven walking with Jesus..

Important note:

So anyone not spending time with any family or friends, whatever the reason may be ..I'm Begging You, to spend time with them because you'll never know when God will call them home..

One thing for sure MY DAD taught us is never to give up, and I think he proved that to us when he was fighting to stay with us longer...

We Love and Salute You Dad!

Don't worry,Daddy! We'll never forget you!

To Those I Love & Leave Behind

When I am gone, release me, let me go.
I have so many things to see and do.
You must not tie yourself to me with tears.
Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you my love.
You can only guess how much you gave me in happiness.
But now it's time I traveled on alone.
So grieve a while for me if grieve you must,
then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only for a while that we must part.
So bless the memories within your heart.
I won't be far away, and life goes on.
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near and if you listen with your heart, you'll hear all of my love around you soft and clear.
And then when you must come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and say,
"Welcome Home."..

Here is another beautiful poem that was written by Rhonda Braswell

COME WITH ME

The Lord saw you getting tired,
And a cure was not to be
So He put his arms around you
And whispered"Come with me
With tearful eyes
we watched you suffer
And saw you fade away
Although we loved you dearly
We could not make you stay
A golden heart stopped beating
A beautiful smile at rest
God broke our hearts to prove
He only takes the best
It's lonesome here without you
We miss you so each day
Our lives aren't the same
Since you went away
When days are sad and lonely
And everything goes wrong
We seem to hear you whisper
"Cheer up and carry on
Each time we see your picture
You seem to smile and say
"Don't cry"I'm in God's keeping
We'll meet again someday

I want to say thanks to my friend, Sherre, she placed that beautiful frame around my Dad's picture. That meant alot and I love you for it..
