Francis H. Cummings

Fran Cummings is an energy strategist, change agent and facilitator who has been at the forefront of innovation in New England energy markets for 30 years, including siting, development, financing and contracting for energy efficiency, CHP, solar energy and hydropower. Knowledge of current business opportunities in the areas of climate change, smart grid development, and the role of the electric utility in the transition to the new energy economy. Advanced skills in strategic planning, financial modeling and business-case development. Goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create green jobs by developing new markets and business models.

Mr. Cummings is currently Vice-President at Peregrine Energy Group, Inc. He previously served as Director of Policy at the Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust from 2001 through 2009, a Principal at KEMA-XENERGY from 1999 through 2001 and as Director of Policy for the Massachusetts Division of Energy Resources (DOER) from 1994 through the spring of 1998, where he played a key role in the regulatory proceedings and settlement negotiations that achieved agreements to divest utility generating assets, to create an independent spot market power exchange in New England and to mandate continued funding of energy efficiency programs for customers.
