Dedham Historical Society

The Dedham Historical Society genealogy and historical library is considered one of the best in New England. Its museum has a wide range of important historical artifacts, ranging from paintings, Dedham and Chelsea Pottery, 16th through 19th century furniture, Katharine Pratt silver, and much more.

The Dedham Historical Society has two distinct phases of operation: the Museum and the Library, which are open at different times, and are in different sections of the building.
The Museum is open on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 12 noon to 4 PM.
The Library is open on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM. It is suggested that persons needing manuscript materials visit on Tuesday or Thursday when we have a volunteer Librarian avaialble from 10-4.
Both the Library and the Museum are open on the even dated Saturdays from 1-4 PM. Both are closed on all Massachusetts and National holidays.

There is a $5 per day charge to use the Library, and a $2 charge to visit the museum. There is never a charge for members. Copies made in the Library are at $.25 each.
