Matt's Page Of Super Nintendo Stuff

This is another page I've created especially for cheats, hints and tips for games on SNES.

I now have a Nintendo 64 page. It's currently under construction. If anyone still visits this site, please be sure to visit it. I may continue to build on this site in the near future, however I may be rebuilding my entire web page. Please note that I will not be working on any of my other currently existing pages besides the N64 one, and perhaps this one.

Matt's Nintendo 64 Page

Cheats/Hints For Super Mario Kart:

1. On the character select screen, press Y & A at the same time to shrink your character. It will look as if he hit one of Toad's or Princess's mushrooms (This will not work in Battle mode).
2. In time trial while you are selecting your character, you can race against a ghost by pressing any button on the second controller. When you've done this, another icon will appear which is marked COM. Select a character with this icon and when you start the trial, the ghost you selected with the COM icon will be racing with you.
3. When you begin a race, no matter what mode you're in (even Battle mode), you can get a head start by revving up your engine as soon as Lakitu flashes the first light.

Cheats/Hints For Super Mario World:

1. To re-enter a castle or fortress (which, normally, you wouldn't be able to do), walk up to it and press the L and R buttons at the same time.
2. To get to the Top Secret Area, in which you can get mushrooms, flowers, feathers, extra men, and Yoshi, you will need Caped Mario. After you get Caped Mario, go to the Donut Ghost House and enter. Now fly up to the very top left of the screen as soon as you enter. You will see a hole in the ceiling. Fly into it and run toward the right. Eventually, you will come to a drop with 4 extra men in it. Enter the door down in it and you will be taken to the goal which will take you to the Top Secret Area.
3. There are 5 entrances to Star Road. You can enter one of them from: Donut Secret House, Vanilla Secret 1, Soda Lake, Forest Fortress, and Valley of Bowser 4.

Cheats/Hints For Donkey Kong Country

When you turn on the game and Cranky plays his phonograph, press DOWN,Y,DOWN,DOWN,Y. You will be taken to a bonus stage where animal tokens are in easy reach!
You can also use the lives that you earn from these bonus stages in gameplay. All you have to do is while playing the game, lose your last life with Diddy, and when the game takes you back to Cranky and his phonograph, type the code and earn as many lives as you want (up to 99, which is maximum). When you have enough, press start and select and you will be taken to the place where you lost your last life, with the bonus lives you earned.

When you are in the saved game select screen, hilight ERASE GAME, then on the first controller, press B,A,R,R,A,L. When you start playing, you will have 50 lives to start off with.

Also while in the saved game select screen, hilight ERASE GAME and type B,A,DOWN,B,UP,DOWN,DOWN,Y (spelling BAD BUDDY). While in 2 player team mode, the inactive player can take control by pressing SELECT.

You will notice there are also some items in holes that seem to be impossible to reach without dying, or maybe there is a platform too far out of your reach. Solve these problems by doing something I call a roll-jump: while trying to get an item in a hole, ROLL your Kong into the hole, get the item and then jump. Somehow you are able to jump in mid-air. This goes the same while trying to reach a far ledge or platform.

To my knowledge, there are about 65 bonus rooms in Donkey Kong Country (somewhere around there). Here is some info on them and where some of them are.
1. When you are on the map screen, if the name of a stage has an exclamation mark (!) on the end of it, that means that you have found all the secrets in that stage.
Now, some of the bonus room locations, as well as some tips...
1. In Jungle Hijinx, when you break out of the treehouse, go back in it for an extra life. Also, in the beginning of the stage, stay on top of trees to earn 4 extra lives. Do roll-jumps from one to the next.

Cheats/Hints For Jurassic Park

Sorry, I don't know of any cheats for Jurassic Park, and I don't think there are any. But I can give you some hints and tips.

Here are the locations of the various ID cards on the island. Some cards are a piece o' cake to find. Others you'll have to complete many tasks to get to. I won't tell you how to get to the locations, because it would take too much time to type, but I might type them up sometime in the near future.

John Hammond- On the top of the Visitor's Centre.
Ian Malcolm- The mid-level of the Raptor Pen
Donald Gennaro- The sub-level of the Nublar Utility Shed
Dennis Nedry- The ground level of the Beach Utility Shed
Alan Grant- The ground level of the Visitor's Centre
Ray Arnold- The sub-level of the Beach Utility Shed
Dr. Wu- Sub-level 1 of the Ship
Ellie Sattler- Sub-level 3 of the Ship
Robert Muldoon- Sub-level 1 of the Raptor Pen

On your journey you will also notice that there are two other doors that require security clearance. They are security level 1 and security level 2. The door that requires security level 1 clearance is in the raptor pen. Level 2 is in the ship. You can get access to these doors by accessing certain computer terminals. The terminal that enables you to get Security Level 1 clearance is in the Visitor's Center on Floor-1. You need Nedry's and Wu's ID card to get to this computer. The terminal the enables clearance of Security Level 2 is on Sub-level 2 of the Ship.

Now some info on the buildings...

Here's a list of all the buildings on Jurassic Park

Throughout the buildings on the island, you will come across computer terminals which are green. To activate the computer terminals and get them to work in all the buildings, you have to (doesn't matter which order) get Nedry's card in the Beach Utility Shed and power up the Generator in the Nublar Utility Shed. Now go up to any terminal and click on the boot. You will get access to the island's controls over the three security gates, as well as activating your motion sensor. Communications come later in the game. There are also user options, which is self-explanatory: options.

You will eventually come across dark rooms in every building. To avoid getting mysteriously eaten by dinosaurs in the dark rooms (even if there aren't any), get the battery that is sitting in around the building. Even though the screen turns dark green in the rooms, you can still see if there are dinos blocking your path. Note that the battery you collect in a building will work only in that building. Ex. a battery from the Visitor's Centre will not work in the Nublar Utility Shed's dark rooms.

The only two kinds of dinosaurs you will find inside the buildings are Velociraptors and Dilophsaurus.

Velociraptors will attack you if you come to close to it or shoot at it and it doesn't die. (the shotgun will do that) Dilophsaurus will spit at you if you're too close; it doesn't charge.

Watch out while inside the Ship. I found that the velociraptors there have much better sense than in any other building, and will charge even if you're a long way off. They also have good camouflage in there, while on the other hand, dilophosauruses are like "sitting ducks", seeing as how they're so green and the walls are orange. But camouflage helps them in dark rooms, because of all the green.

Info on weapons

Here is a list of all the weapons you will find on Jurassic Park

The basic (and boring, I find) cattle prod weapon isn't very effective, with the exception of clearing out Compsognathus cheaply. You will never run out, but it needs time to recharge after it has been used for an extended period of time.

You can find any of these weapons in and out of buildings.

The 2 most effective weapons on any dinosaur (except the T-rex) are the rocket launcher and bola snare rifle ammo. So load up those guns with these.

The only weapon the will hold back (not kill) the Tyrannosaurus is the tranquilizer darts. So these are also handy if you're on T-rex territory. You can never kill the T-rex.

Tranquilizers will only put the Velociraptor to sleep for about 10-15 seconds (no, it isn't very long). They will, although, put any other dinosaur (except T-rex, of course) to sleep for good (death, rather).

Info on dinosaurs

Here is a list of dinosaurs on Jurassic Park, as well as their point value when killed.

Now, some descriptions on the dinos...

Compsognathus (Compy)- These dinos may look small and harmless, but can hurt you little by little. The instruction book says that they travel in packs, but are usually found in small numbers, with the exception of a few groups. They are easily killed by the basic cattle prod weapon, but can deal quite a bit of harm to you while in big packs. Although they can hurt you, they are also afraid of you, and will run away if you look in their direction.

Gallimimus (Ostrich)- They are easily startled, and will stampede in your direction if you come too close. They can hurt and bruise you lots if you're not out of the way in time. Although they can injure you, you can also hurt them plenty. I find the best weapon to use on these idiots is the bola. Don't try using cattle prod, for it takes too much time, energy and health.

Pachycephalosaurus (Head-butter)- It's as hard to kill these guys as it is to pronounce their name correctly. Yes, they are hard to kill, because of both their speed and determination to hit you with their bony heads. They can hurt you quite a bit on every impact they make on you. Although they are fast and can avoid your shots, it seems that their heads are made up of too much bone and not enough brain; they don't seem to realize the fact that you're armed with a gun and they're armed with a thick skull, and despite that fact they are very relentless. But still, I suppose with enough speed and enough force they can send you flying to the ground and have you laying there forever. Or in other words, they can kill you.

Dilophosaurus (Spitter)- They seem "playful and friendly", but turn out to be vicious after they reveal the colorful ring around their necks. Then get ready for the deadly part. They spit at you a poisonous venom, which will injure you and even make you lose control and go nuts if you're outside buildings.

More coming soon.
