This is a shot of the bottom of my rusty-but-original 42" mower deck.



I think that the blades are the original ones, but they have been resharpened and cut really well. The semicircular things you see at the bottom of the deck are wind baffles designed to keep the grass upright to ensure a complete cut. This deck is of the later-model Quick-Attatch style, and can be easily removed from the tractor by releasing two latches.
