The story:

Ok, so here’s the story: I was driving home from running a errand on the 19th of September, when I saw the car in front of me drive over something that looked like a piece of trash in the road. I was about to do the same when I noticed the thing moving. I only had 2 seconds to think, “what the hell is that?” I thought it was a rat. There was a lot of traffic, but I stopped in the middle of the street and put my hazard flashers on and got out (much to the annoyance of the drivers behind me).
Anyway, what was in the middle of the road was this little tiny kitten, so I picked it up and threw it in the car and drove home.

I have absolutely no doubt that the kitten wouldn’t have survived another minute.

I was going to bring it to the pound, but after killing off the infestation of fleas with a nice warm dip and rinse, I had a bad feeling (with my girlfriend Shirley’s help) that I was going to keep it. So, much against my better judgement and because she’s (yes, it’s a her) so damn cute and adorable, and because the king of the house Kuakalulamukamuku (Muku) likes her, I’m keeping her. Of course Muku is going to have to teach her to stop stalking and pouncing on everything that moves, especially his tail. No, I’m not becoming one of those “cat people”; I draw the line at two.

Now, the problem is, for the life of me, I can’t come up with a good name.

So, I’m going to try and use the power of the Internet to help me name her.

"Too CUTE to have no name"
I already had “Roadkill” vetoed and I don’t really want anything like “Shnookums”. My favorite so far is “splat”, you know, because she was almost…yeah, I know, that’s why I’m having this contest.

The winner of the “NAME THE CAT CONTEST” will get…Well…I don’t know…something. Hey, It’s not like you’re naming a country.

So here’s the rules: Use the guest book to suggest a name and I’ll pick either the most suggested (I’ll draw from a hat) or the one I think is best.
I’ll post the results here every week and pick a winner by Christmas. Until then I’ll just call her Shnookums.
