Where Does Our Road Go Now?

As we awoke Tuesday morning on the 11th day of September, little did we
know what was ahead of us, as we rushed to get ready for work , send the
kids to school , a kiss good-bye to our loved ones to set the day in motion,
once again, but.. little did we know.. little did we FEAR. for some of us..
we will never see those faces again..

On that fateful horrible morning , as planes were hijacked, buildings
attacked, hit, and destroyed, it really matters NOT where we are .. for we
are all affected, it matters that we are HERE.. AMERICANS standing UNITED
together against the violent attack on our fellow Americans and all that our
Country stands for.

Since  that awful day, our lives have been turned inside out , and upside
down, we search for answers, and we Pray, "Oh Lord, how could such a
terrible thing happen to us?" How do we explain this to our children who
look to us for guidance, for answers, when we ourselves cannot explain? The
question goes unanswered.. and we will never again be the same....

We watch for news and we Pray for peace.. where does our road go now? Is
this war? How many more will die?

I  have to believe in our great Nation.. that we will overcome.. You have
to believe as well.. BUT.. Life as we knew it is gone.. at least for now..
for we live in FEAR.. In FEAR of TERRORISM.. BUT we are AMERICANS .. WE WILL
NOT ALLOW FEAR TO OVERCOME US... FOR

WE ARE BUT ONE GREAT NATION UNDER GOD

                                 FOREVER AND EVER
                                                     AMEN

As I sit here this morning thinking about those lost in the Worlds Trade Center my thoughts also go to the Family and Friends, This is the sixth day after the Attack on America. The Country is still in mourning and will be for a very long time. The people are trying to get back to their way of life, but it is so hard as your mind keeps going back to last Tuesday Morning.

There are still so many yet to be found and so little time to find them alive. We must all keep praying to God for his help. I would like to comment on our Government if I can.  I am 72 years old, I was around for Pearl Harbor, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War and all the others that have happened In the United States. In all of these conflicts, I have never seem this Country go into action like It has this time. They are going after the ones that have done this to our people, I am Proud to be an American. I ask them only please don't jump into something too fast. We have already lost some five thousand Mothers, and Fathers.  Let's not lose any more than we have to. Let us all go to God for help on this.  He will show us the way.  Just remember, this was not done by God. It was done by terrorists. We have the Greatest Country in the World. And We should all be very proud of It.

 God Bless America Walt Chapman

The attack upon the World Trade Centers touched me, as it had so many other Americans and citizens of the world.  I watched in disbelief as CNN played and replayed the tape of the plane flying into the building, in fact watching, as so many met their deaths.  The reason for this terrible attack still escapes me; I don't understand what remedy could be achieved by the taking of so many lives.

If the hope of the terrorists was to separate us as a nation or as a people, their efforts have failed.  Our country has united as one, something that hasn't happened in a very long time.  Our people proudly fly our national colors, we are no longer African-Americans, Asian Americans, European-American, we stand together, proudly as Americans.  We have set aside our differences with how we treat each other based upon the color of our skin, our cultural ways that our parents brought with them when they came to America, seeking a better life, and our efforts at obtaining our individually.

I am a United States Army Veteran, I am Vietnam era but never served in Vietnam.  I have wept with my sisters and brothers of this nation, and have drawn strength from their love.  Now it is time for all of us to join in support of our President and his efforts to bring those to justice who planned and committed this terrible tragedy.   To those who planned and executed this tragedy, you can run, but you can't hide, we will find you.

 God Bless America

I’ve lived in this great land now for some 57 years plus…. I was born just at the end of WWII, and just as I was getting old enough to understand things with some degree of comprehension, I watched my uncles head off to a land call Korea… These same men had fought in WWII, but nonetheless they answered the call.

Our family was most fortunate, for they returned though not without the inward and outward scars of battle, but they did return.

During this time I was too busy growing up to notice the beauty of the country that I lived in, nor was prone to appreciate the freedoms that I took for granted. I was a typical self-centered kid growing up in a typical upper middle class home learning how to look down on those having less than me, and to dislike and distrust those who were not just like me.

As a teenager I was rather unruly, and show disrespect for authority. Oh, I would say yes sir and no sir to my elders… and say what they wanted to hear… but then went off on my merry way without thought of consequence for my actions.

My behavior (or lack there of) got me expelled out of school in my home town of Cincinnati so my parents sent me to live with my uncle in Burbank, California from there to Kennesaw, Georgia. BY the time I was expelled there I had lost interest in my studies all together… I was unhappy and restless. I wanted to be on my own. I joined the Navy to see the world. Actually, it was the best thing that could have happened.

Talk about rules and consequences for breaking them… I was learning the hard way. Somehow I got through boot camp and got my first set of orders to a ship in Long beach… I got into trouble there and was sent to Japan. Little by little I began to learn… of course  and it took a court marshal and confinement, but the message eventually began to get through.

I served through the Cuban Missile Crisis, the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, and Viet Nam, yet I never fully appreciated what America is all about. I guess the years and life itself taught me temperance to a greater degree than in my youth… but still, I wasn’t able to see the blessing of living in America.

Not until September 11, 2001 was I able to see, for the first time the beauty of this land called America.

The beauty of the races that populate our cities and towns, the beauty of the landscape as I drive throughout the county side…and the blessed freedom to do so causes me to weep with a heart of gratitude and pride I cry out… America you are beautiful to me.

My heart aches for those who were lost during the senseless attack on New York City and Washington DC and for their families.

I find myself taking nothing for granted and being thankful for every morsel of food, for every tank of gas, and for every fellow citizen I see.

I tear up at each flag I see displayed and the unity I see within the family of American. If only I (we) could have seen this so many years ago… so many wasted years ago… maybe just maybe the events of September 11th would not have happened.

One thing is for sure we cannot let ourselves become complacent ever again, lest those who lost their lives will have been in vain.

Yes, America you are beautiful to me, every woman, man, and child, ever tree, every building makes America and America you are beautiful to me.

My heart goes out to all those who lost their lives and the families. This tragedy has hit us at home . There are some of us who have endured this type of tragedy before, at the hands of the same people. I am a
survivor of the Marine barracks bombing in Beirut Lebanon in 1983. So I know the feelings of despair and hopelessness this tragedy becomes. But we have become a nation of one again united and strong. We will
persevere as those of us who have survived the tragedy from which I experienced. If it were not the love of my life Nancy U. I would of never been able to come back from the upheaval this has caused in my life. So I say to others..... have faith in your God your Country and most of all those you love. Share a special moment with them and hug them, for we never know when the next time will be.. Thank You Nancy for your
love .. And thank you USA for supporting those who have suffered through this tragedy. My heart and tears go out to you.

As the call once more goes out to the Soldiers who wear the Beret of three colors now , but the first are the green berets who will go,
With pride, sadness, a bit of anger and dispair
( feeling helpless) through all this.  I still have tears  and dreams  and yet there is the hope and strength I draw from KNOWING in my heart and soul  that Our precious Lord in Heaven weeps with us .
A very traumatic lesson to be learned  through these trials at this time  and a wondrous almost magical Union is forming among the countries and  the people of all beliefs .

It has taken me some time to be calm enough to sit down and write , although  there is so much in my hurting heart, that I can't put it all into words at this time , so I will keep it shorter  for now ,
I stand strong however in faith, until there once more is Victory ,
Until once more there is the ringing of liberty  ,
when I see  Lady Liberty stand tall and strong  with her light burning still as a reminder to all who come  to these beautiful States United  :)  oh   ohhhhh   words are not sufficient .
Let us all  join hands and hearts and remember the reason we are together , the reason We came , I as a young  wife of a young Green Beret who gave his life for  his country , his people, his family and his friends.
They are the same reasons why  all the beautiful..  wonderful people  on the 11th, gave their lives willingly  to save others .

God and I will not forget them .

I am too emotional at this moment to continue but will try again to finish this  in a day or two .
Remember I love and pray for you all  and please let us not forget to pray for our enemies as well.

Angie

A Day that will live in Infamy - those words were spoken by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt on December 7th, 1941.  I was alive then - I heard those words spoken.  I later saw the newsreels of the events that occurred on that Day of Infamy.

Those words, those acts of War forever changed my life and the lives of  all of us at that time.  The acts of Infamy perpetrated on innocent humans on September 11th, 2001 have altered, to some degree, the lives of all of us.  It is up to each of us to limit, to mitigate, the changes.

Some changes needed to be made - we are now one country, united under God - one nation.  Lets keep it that way - and grow even stronger.

Maria aka JustMeMyself

NOTHING can come from this tragedy that will be
worth the lives that were lost, but hopefully we
as a nation can remember these things during this
time of grief and pain;
GOD'S PROMISES: ARE GREATER THAN ANY STORM
GOD'S LOVE: IS GREATER THAN ANY HATE
GOD'S FAITHFULNESS: IS GREATER THAN ANY DOUBT
GOD'S PEACE: IS GREATER THAN ANY FEAR
GOD'S COMFORT: IS GREATER THAN ANY SORROW
GOD'S PLAN: IS GREATER THAN ANY OF OURS
GOD'S WILL: is that NO ONE should perish,
but that ALL should come to repentance!

GOD SAID:
"If MY people which are called by My Name
will humble themselves & pray, & seek my face
and turn from their wicked ways I WILL hear
from heaven and heal their land."
JESUS said: "the thief (Satan) comes to rob,
kill, and destroy, but I AM come that you
might have LIFE...and THAT...MORE ABUNDANTLY!"

KEEP LOOKING UP... TO GOD..(THE AUTHOR OF HOPE,
LOVE, MERCY, GRACE, & COMFORT)

LETS HOPE

WE HAVE THE NEED TO BELIEVE IN THE TRUTH
BUT YET WE REFUSE TO BELIEVE IN FACT
WE WANT TO COMMUNICATE THAT WE DARE TO FEEL
WE TEND TO STAY ALOOF AND HOPE ALL STAYS INTACT
WE WISH FOR IMMORTALITY BUT IS THIS REAL
JUST THE NEED TO BE REMEMBERED
LIFE IS A MYSTERY BUT WHAT ABOUT DEATH
IS THAT THE END?
NO MORE HUNGER NO MORE LOVE
NO MORE BREATH FROM THE AIR ABOVE
DON'T DECEIVE YOURSELF FOR WE ALL DO BELONG
WE PRAY THAT THIS LIFE LEADS TO ANOTHER
THIS IS BUT A SHORT LIFE, THE JOURNEY GETS LONGER
THE MORE WE LEARN THE MORE WE ARE
SO WHY ARE WE SO DUMBFOUNDED
WILL WE BE FELT, WILL WE BE HEARD
WE ALL NEED TO FIND CLOSURE
LIFE AND DEATH ARE GIVEN TO US
BUT THESE GIFTS ARE SO OFTEN PASSED ON UNOPENED
OUR BODIES ARE LIKE WAVES ON THE OCEAN
WE ARE ALL LINKED TOGETHER SOMEHOW SOMEWAY
THIS IS IMMORTALITY
LIFE IS LIKE A SNAPSHOT SO IN THIS FRAME
LEARN TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER
BE KINDER TO EACH OTHER
THERE IS AN AFTERLIFE AND LOVE IS THE VEHICLE
THAT KEEPS US IN TOUCH
DEATH IS NOT THE END IT IS JUST THE BEGINNING
THERE IS THIS UNFULFILLED NEED TO KNOW EVERYTHING
THE BEGINNINGS THE MIDDLES THE ENDS
BUT MOST OF ALL WE NEED TO RECEIVE THE ANSWERS
WE RARELY GET THROUGH LIFE
ACCEPT THAT WHICH IS UNUSUAL IN YOURSELF
AND DON'T EVER DENY YOURSELF TO BE
REMEMBER THE ONES WHO HAVE PASSED THROUGH YOUR LIFE
FOR SOMEHOW THEY HAVE TOUCHED US ALL AND THERE LIVES SHALL ALWAYS LIVE ON
OUR HOPES AND DREAMS WILL STILL FLOURISH EVERYWHERE
THEY CANNOT OR WILL WE LET THEM TAKE THIS AWAY
