Marine Equipment
Totallly enclosed in the CMC-300/400 Marine Powered combat suit, the Terran Marine represents the smallest of all the infantry units. Armed with the Confederate-issue C-14 "Impaler" Gauss Rifle, this gun gives a single marine a powerful weapon. Being the first line of defense, they are the single most important unit in the Corps. Most marines have undergone mandatory Neural Resocialazation. The CMC-300/400 Combat suit provides NBC (Nuclear/Biological/Chemical) shielding for operation in deep space and hostile environments. The C-14 Gauss Rifle shoots 8mm "spikes" at hypersonic speeds, this makes them super effective against light armored troops. Marines carry flashlights attached to their right shoulder armor. It can be detatched simply by pulling it off. The C-14 Gauss Rifle also has a grenade tube slung on the bottom. The Beretta isn't used much, but in the cut scene entitled "Battle on the Amerigo," a marine uses one.
Zeta Squadron Marines are actually smart. They use tactics instead of sitting there and firing blindly. The marines in Zeta Squadron are known to paint pictures of a mongoose on their combat suits, to symbolize their ferocity in combat.
