Selecting a Home and Closing the Deal

I will help you through the various steps to close the deal on your home. These steps are:

  1. Offer to Purchase A contract detailing the property to be purchased, conditions, timing, financing and other specific items to be sold. This is typically negotiated between seller and buyer until agreement has been reached or becomes apparent that agreement will not be possible.
  2. Inspections After an agreed upon Offer to Purchase, the buyer may conduct inspections of the house before entering into the binding contract of a Purchase and Sale agreement.
  3. Purchase and Sale A written document in which the purchaser agrees to buy certain real estate and the seller agrees to sell under stated terms and conditions. Also called a sales contract, earnest money contract or agreement for sale.
  4. Financing This is the process of obtaining a mortgage from application through closing.
  5. Closing The last step in the real estate transaction in which the deed is signed transferring the property to the buyer and the seller receives the proceeds of the sale.
