Christian Humanist

My name is Edward Knight; serving as Community Chaplain to the Greater Springfield, Massachusetts area. I am a Credentialed and Certified Minister with the Federation of Christian Ministries. Professional accreditation include memberships in the 'International Conference of Police Chaplains'(Massachusetts state representative); pastoral affiliate of The 'National Institute of Business and Industrial Chaplains'; sustaining member of the 'UU Christian Fellowship'; member of the prestigious 'Alban Institute' in Maryland and the United States Chaplains Association. I am also the presiding officer of the Massachusetts chapter of 'The National Interfaith Coalition for Spiritual Health Care and Counseling'.

My interests are in police, fire, business and community chaplaincy!

I have been schooled in ecumenical theology, and consider myself a Post-Christian-Humanist, belonging to a Christian denomination that is rightfully and truly Post-Denominational. We act in an interfaith and ecumenical manner that is consistent with the worship and belief in God, and that of loving thy neighbor, as oneself. We, as a faith group, continue to Search and Seek out truth, justice and liberation with an ecumencity of purpose.

Contemporary Christian Humanism

Contemporary Christian Humanism is a personal theological belief that I have developed, based on the writings of Erasmus:

1) ALL men and women should practice PIETY. They should follow their religious beliefs, and be at their BEST during worship. One must continue to seek individual spirituality as it moves you.

2)MORALITY is at the heart of Christian Humanism!! Without ethical and moral values; we are doomed for a steadfast course with catastrophe.

3)SEARCH for the TRUTH!! We, as rational and intelligent human beings, MUST continue to search for the truth in everything that we do, or encounter. I do not suggest that science is the cure-all for mankind, but we cannot overlook the advances that science has given us. Also, it is prudent to urge everyone to simultaneously KEEP FAITH in the BELIEFS that you hold valuable, but NEVER stop searching for the truth in religiosity.

I have added a few additional thoughts regarding Contemporary Christian Humanism:

* I no longer consider myself searching for a anthropomorphic God, but rather a COSMIC CHRIST within the cosmos of vast heavenly space. This has been my Search for truth; I have obtained my liberation of belief through this process.

* One should actively support the betterment of mankind by involving him/herself in SOCIO-ECONOMIC and POLITICAL activism. Become involved! Do what is RIGHT!

* Let the SPIRIT move you! Keep 'good and rightful' intentions at the forefront in your mind. Rationalize and reason all you do in life.
