La Casa de Dax
I'm Cathy Hall and, while born in the United States, I've lived in Madrid, Spain since 1989. I have an extensive background in the teaching of English as a Second Language (ESL) and have an MA in TESOL and an MA in Instructional Technology. I currently work as an ESL instructor at several large companies in Madrid, though I continue looking for work as a technology coordinator at a local university.
So how did I get where I am? Well, in 1995 I made a
daring move and returned to the States to study
an MA in TESOL at American University in
Washington, D.C. (a great program which I highly
recommend). My plan was to do the MA in a year
and a half and then return to Spain, however, the
second semester I was there I took (quite
reluctantly) a class called Computer
Applications for Language Teachers and
realized I had met my destiny....so to speak. So
I quickly finished that MA and moved over to
George Mason University where I began an MA in Instructional
Technology.
Wow! What can I say....I was hooked!
Unfortunately, things haven't gone as well as I had hoped on the technology front. I'm still teaching ESL and continue looking for an Ed Tech related job. I'm sure there's one on my horizon.
