| I guess I'll start out with how I got the screen name of pisto. It all started back when my dad bought a modem and hooked up our 486 with an internet connection. This was when I became obsessed with computers. We were signed up with AOL (When I first got online AOL was pretty much a free-for-all. You could easily make "punters" and boot people offline using the insecure-at-the-time Instant Messaging service.) and I wanted "pistol" to be my screen name. It said it was taken and gave be a suggestion, the suggestion was "PISTO33680." I took it and it and PISTO33680@aol.com was my email address for several years. Right now I'm 15. Other interests include paintball and drumset playing. Websites for these interests could show up. Right now my computer knowledge consists of: Advanced knowledge of Windows 98 and XP. Windows Networking. Sufficient knowledge of HTML. I have a distro of SuSe Linux 7.3 although I am not very familiar with it yet. Right now I have 5 computers scattered throughout the house. Two I got for free from my school. My collection includes a 15 year old TRS-80 Model 4p. I learned how to use it because it reminds me of how things have changed. People 15 years ago didn't have pastel GUI's or pre-fabbed scripts. You actually had to know something in order to operate a computer. I wish it was still like that. Anyway this concludes my biography. -pisto March 2003 |
