It might help if you provided some evidence for your conclusion - I'm not 100% certain about my answer, but I would say 'no', it's not Thursday.

The more I search the dialogues of Bilbo in LOTR the more I wonder why this question qualifies under the trivia rules. If you can't find the answer in the Hobbit, you should not find the question either, if I may be so bold.

The answer may not be found in The Lord of the Rings, either. I'm sorry if I wasn't very clear on that point. To answer the question, both books must be used. I decided that, partially because we have more questions in the LotR section, and partially because it relates to the events of The Hobbit, I would put it here.
If you still object, I shall be happy to withdraw it. I should, however, like to know where it may be posed, since, if it cannot go here, it equally well cannot go in the LotR trivia.
---
The part of LotR concerned is not any of Bilbo's dialogue.

I think it's a great question, and I'd hate for you to withdraw it. Actually, it may have received a good hearing already, so that if you were to just answer it outright now, we'd all be able to fully appreciate the coolness of the answer.

I agree that your question is excellent TL. But I think (just a feeling) the answer is never given outright in TH or LotR. It seems like it must be deduced or "calculated" from a couple (or several) clues in the books. I have been too lazy to pour through all the volumes to find the clues, but someone else may find this a good challenge.
Is my proposed method close to the truth TL?

Close, but not exact.
It must be deduced, certainly, but there is little calculation needed: as long as you had the correct pages in both books open at the same time, the answer would be quite apparent.
---
I get the feeling that Bungo is hinting for me to end the question, so I'll give a hint: the relevant part of LotR is in the appendices.

No day of the week. They left on midsummer morning which according to the Hobbits was not given a name.

MY QUESTION:
Who said "Taurelilomea-tumbalemorna Tumbaletaurea Lomeanor" and what was the intended meaning?

If memory serves, that was Treebeard's attemopt at an explanation of the way in which some trees had gone bad - 'a black shadow lies in the valleys of the forest' - not that, but something like it. He was using elvish of some form in a very strung together manner.
However, master Stormcrow, this is in the trivia thread for The Hobbit (if you go to the forum entitled The Lord of the Rings, you will find another trivia thread), and so questions posed should be from that first part of the Red Book. If you would, please set instead a question from The Hobbit.

Congratulations, Galdalf9191, on your successful first post, (if not your second. heheheh)
But, good grief! Midsummers Morning??? Could there be any more obvious answer? Everyone knows they left the morning after Elrond read the moonrunes on Midsummer's Eve. I thought we were looking for the day of the week that we needed LOTR to narrow down! What a let down.
p.s. I've got my tickets for Dec. 19, in Ancaster Ontario! So, woo hoo! An easy trivia answer can't wreck this day! And anyway, it was still a great question, Laur.

The question is who, not 'what'.
The answer, IIRC, is the head of the guards.
