There is a reference to 'Porter' in a list of drinks - I don't know what this is, though, so it could fall into either category so far as I am concerned.

Ah, TL, not to have enjoyed the delights of a nice rich Porter! It is a dark, chocolaty brew, a variety of the fermentation processes. Beer, Ale, and Porter are both similar and different. All are arrived at through the fermentation of grains. Beer has the addition of hops and Porter has a dark roasted malt that adds a new set of flavors. And a good stout is wonderful, but alas, the hobbits don't seem to have that!

Okay, I've got one.
List the evil creatures mentioned in The Hobbit.
Some of these may be up for debate, and there may be some that I've missed. But I have 8 by my count. This does not include creatures that aren't named specifically (such as the eyes in Mirkwood).

You have 7 of the 8. I didn't count the Necromancer because technically he isn't really a "creature." I also didn't count giants. (Does it mention somewhere that some of them were evil? I couldn't find any reference to that.)

And there was another line of thought I've had but that is just a complicated conjecture, so yes we really don't have "proof" that they were "evil".
I like Marcho's quote of 'wicked people'. It's the only example of actual people being evil.
How about the Sackville Bagginses? Not too evil huh?

Those are good ones, Marcho. But like I mentioned before, I wouldn't consider 'people' (even really wicked ones) to be 'creatures.'
And I think your second one falls under this comment.

No, the S-B's aren't on my list, but good try there.
Once again, there's a distinction between creatures and human-type characters. I suppose you could say that Gollum isn't a creature either since he was originally a hobbit. But I consider what he has become creature-like enough to count as one.

I'm going to rise in arms against those folk that say the Hobbit is a happy nice children's book. Why it's got more evil than the Silm. and LOTR put together:

Some eagles, I believe - there is a bit when it introduces the ones the dwarves meet which says this. Also, there is a reference to evil bears.

But that was possibly because Bilbo thought they were wicked.
But the Eagles definitely are mentioned!

Where have all the flowers gone?
Fifteen adventurers (thirteen dwarves, Gandalf and our dear hobbit) set out to the Lonely Mountain from the Green Dragon Inn (Gandalf joined them a little later). Before Bilbo returned to his warm bath and late breakfast, there were fifteen situations in which one of the company found himself completely alone, either because he was on a scouting expedition or simply because all the others had vanished. Bonus:Now one more of these situations may not fully fit in but is amply qualified, by a subsequent statement, to be acceptable as the sixteenth such incident.
Please list them all.

Gandalf rode off to speak with elves of Rivendell.....1 Bilbo went forward to check out the Trolls.......2 Each of the thirteen dwarves went alone and in succession to check out the Trolls........3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14, and 15. Bilbo was separated in the dark tunnels of the Goblin mountain.......bonus 16. There are several more I believe, but I've done the required 16.
