isa was born in Toronto, but spent most of her childhood   and teenage years living in Whitby.  She attended Anderson Collegiate Vocational Institute, for 5 years, before graduating with honors.  She then continued her schooling at Queen’s University.  She graduated in 1994 with a B.A in Political Studies.  As a student at Queen’s Lisa worked hard getting her views across. She strongly believed in a number of different causes including helping the under privileged, the disabled, and working to protect the environment.

After graduating from Queen’s Lisa began the challenge of creating a small business.  Lisa worked for 3 years at building up a small real estate agency in Kingston.  Her firm is now one   of the most successful agencies in Kingston.

After Lisa’s business was up and running she decided her gift of being able to talk to people about what they want, and her ability to speak openly to the public would be best served by becoming active in the government. 

Lisa moved back to Whitby and within the year she ran for office.  After winning with a resounding 55% of the vote Lisa became the first female MPP in her riding.  

Lisa has been MPP of Whitby/Ajax riding for the past 5 years.  She lives in Whitby with her husband and her 2 children She spends most of her free time caring for her family, working on environmental projects and volunteering at the local seniors homes.
