You want WHAT, Goku...?

Chichi

Goku gently caressed her stomach. She moaned slightly and leaned back on his muscular chest. ((Yeah baby!)) He grinned. "You up for some more Chi?" He asked happily. His hands explored her thighs. She let out a tiny whimper. "Go-chan!" She breathed. "How can you regain your stamina so quickly? I’m still exhausted!" His smile grew wider.

"It’s ok Chi. You don’t have to move. I’ll do everything." He gently massaged her thighs. He was preparing to go lower when his head snapped back up, confused. "What is it Goku?" She asked, half exasperated, half relived. She was really tired. Aroused but tired. "Vegeta’s back. And Bulma’s with him." He rolled off their bed and reached for his pants.

"Guess we’d better go see what they want." She nodded and tossed him his shirt. He smiled. "Thanks Chi. I think these are yours." He threw her a pair of ripped silk panties. She blushed. He grinned then bolted back downstairs. Goku busted out of the house just as they landed.

"Hey Vegeta! What’s up? Nani?!" He shouted suddenly noticing the naked woman in his sparring partner’s arms. "Vegeta! What happened?" Goku gasped running to his side. Bulma was shivering, weather from the cold or something else Goku didn’t know. "She needs some help Kakkorot! Where’s your mate?"

Goku nodded. ‘Chichi!’ He shouted mentally. Her head snapped up from where she was pulling her pants on. ‘Chichi! Hurry! Bulma’s hurt really bad!’ Chichi’s heart clenched. ‘Bulma?! How bad?’ She mentally shrieked to her husband while running down the stairs. ‘Real bad.’ Was all he replied.

She grabbed a bag that harbored all sorts of medicines and bandages that she found useful with Two Saiyans, a Namek, and a Demi-Saiyan on the loose. She burst out the door and ran towards the two saiyans. She looked Bulma over critically. It wasn’t as bad as she feared.

She was bleeding from her back and what looked like a slap mark on her face. She was bruised but it was nothing like what she had to put up with usually. She pulled Goku and Vegeta quickly into the living room. She uncapsuled the Regeneration tank Bulma had given them for Christmas and Vegeta quickly placed her in the harness.

She moaned and tried to stay in his arms. "Onna. Let me go. We’re putting you in an isolation chamber." He said in a suprizingly gentle voice. "N-no! Don’t leave me!" She begged. Chichi winced. Right now her friend was scared and confused. She was still in shock so she probably didn’t recognize either her, Goku, or were she was. Of course she’d be afraid!

"I won’t leave." He promised. "You will! You will!" She shouted, tears still spilling down her face. "No. I’ll stay until you want me to leave." He insisted rubbing her back. Eventually she calmed down. "Promise?" She whispered in fear. "I promise." He said attaching the wires to her nude frame.

She blinked back her tears. "Ok. If you say so." She whispered. The door slid shut, the tank filled with the healing solution, and the monitors showed she was sleeping. The moment she was asleep Chichi pulled the two saiyan males into the kitchen. "What happened?" She demanded.

Vegeta growled. "Her dad happened." He snapped. Chichi’s face went livid. "I’ll kill that mother-fucking bastard!" She shrieked. Goku looked thoroughly startled. Vegeta fought to control his own rage. "Promise or no promise! I can’t sit back and let this happen anymore!" She raged.

Vegeta’s eyes snapped up to her face. "You knew? You knew and you didn’t DO anything?!" He shouted, powering up before he realized what he was doing. "I only knew since yesterday!" His aura brightened. "That was plenty of time to do something!" He bellowed.

His ki flashed gold for a second before going back to blue. Goku stepped in at that point. "That’s enough Vegeta! A day may have been enough time for you to do something but Chichi’s only human!" Vegeta’s fury redirected itself towards Goku. "And you?" He snapped. "Did you know about this Kakkorot?!" Goku shook his head.

"I just found out. Chichi? Why didn’t you tell me?" His raven-haired wife burst into tears. "She made me promise not to tell anyone! Especially you or Krillan! She said it was her problem!" She continued sobbing as Goku took her into his arms. "How long has this been going on?" Vegeta ground out.

"Since s-she was sev-ven!" Chichi cried. Vegeta’s hands clenched. Goku paled. "W-what?" He blinked twice. "But I’ve known her since she was sixteen!" He gasped. Chichi nodded. "I’m going to kill him." Vegeta determined, walking to the door. Chichi jumped up.

"NO!" She shrieked. "She practically begged me not to! She said something has to happen first!" She ran to the door and attempted to block it. Vegeta just picked her up and moved her. "Plus Vegeta," Goku added. "You promised you’d stay here with her." Vegeta stopped.

He had promised, but then again…had he really been intending to keep his promise? ‘Yes!’ His mind answered quickly. He couldn’t leave her here. He growled his frustration then swung back to look at Chichi. "What do you mean ‘something’ has to happen first?" He barked. Chichi shook her head. "She wasn’t really clear. Sit down and I’ll explain." She sighed. Vegeta stalked over to a chair and gave the human female his full attention.

Bulma

The blue haired onna blinked the sleepiness out of her eyes. She felt something on her face and her first instinct was to get it off. She attempted to move her hand but blinked in surprise when she realized two things. One, she couldn’t move her hand, and two the ‘thing’ on her face was a mask. More specifically the oxygen mask in the regeneration tank. She shook her head slightly, trying to clear it.

‘Why am I in the regeneration tank? How did I get here?’ She concentrated and forced her mind to recall what had happened. Her eyes widened. Dr. Briefs…she had been so close to ‘that’ happening again, then Vegeta…he had saved her? ‘But why?’ No…not just saved her, he had soothed her, let her cry on his shoulder, carried her here. ‘Where is here? And where is he?’ One thing she did remember was him saying he would stay until she wanted him to leave. Bulma looked around.

The world was hazy and blue because of the healing solution she was submerged in. There were three people out there, sitting around a table. One seemed to be speaking, another nodded, and the third noticed her and pointed. As the tree came closer she realized the one who had been speaking was Chichi, Goku had pointed her out, and…’Vegeta!’ Bulma’s heart leapt and she felt confused as to why she was so happy to see him.

The blue liquid drained from around her petite frame. The door opened and Chichi gently unattached the wires from her body. Her very naked body. Bulma blushed as she realized that not only was she unclothed, but that Vegeta and Goku stood there watching her.

"Uh…can I have some clothes? Please?" She said timidly. Goku smiled at her and went to get one of Chichi’s dresses, Vegeta just smirked. It was making her extremely uncomfortable, the way he was just watching her. Chichi helped her step out of the tank and turned with a frown toward Vegeta. "Turn around Baka! Can’t you see she doesn’t like you galking at her body?!" She hissed. He spun on his heel, glad that apparently neither women had seen his slight blush.

Goku returned, handed the clothes to Bulma, then he too stood with his back turned. "How are you feeling Bulma?" He asked in his normally cheerful voice. She smiled weakly. "I’ve been better." She replied softly. He nodded. "So you gonna tell us what’s been goin’ on?" He said. She froze. ‘Real direct. That’s always been our Son-Goku.’ She thought. She fought to keep her tears in.

"I don’t think I’m going to Goku. It’s isn’t your business." In reality she didn’t know why she was holding back from them. They were her friends, even Vegeta. But…how could she tell Goku? Sweet, innocent Goku wouldn’t understand this.

‘Yes he would!’ Another part of her mind insisted.

‘He’s your friend! They’re all your friends and they would understand!’

‘No they wouldn’t! They’ve never dealt with this before! You don’t want them to think that you’re weaker than they already do!’

‘Tell them!’

‘No!’

‘TELL THEM!’

‘NO!’

Her brain argued back and forth with itself causing Bulma to become dizzy, unsure, and even more withdrawn. "You guys can turn around now." She said quietly. They both turned. Goku blinked a few times and Vegeta openly stared. She wore a fine, baby blue, silk dress with gold trimming. Chichi didn’t have any pants for her to wear underneath so the slits showed off her legs, on both sides, up to her thighs. It had a gold dragon imprinted across her chest.

Goku recovered first. "You’re wrong you know." He said snapping Vegeta out of his trance before he started drooling.

((::giggles:: ^.~))

"W-wrong?" She stuttered, the way Vegeta had been staring at her…it was more than a little unnerving. "Yes wrong. You said it wasn’t my business but…you are my best friend, Bulma. What he does to you is no different than if he did it to Chichi." His eyes narrowed and she felt more than saw Chichi nod.

"I…I feel the same way now as I did when Freeza killed Krillan. If this doesn’t stop…" Bulma immediately cut him off. "No Goku! You don’t understand! I…I can’t explain it but something has to happen first! So-something important!" The tears were leaking down her face again.

‘Damn! I’m stronger than this!’ She mentally scolded herself.

"If you kill him now I-I have the feeling something bad will happen." Vegeta raised an eyebrow. Goku’s face took on a thoughtful expression. "What has to happen Bulma? Why’s it so important?" She wiped her eyes and gave Chichi’s hand a slight squeeze. "I don’t know." She answered truthfully. "I don’t know the answer to either of those questions. I just feel…" She trailed off in frustration.

She couldn’t explain it but she knew. It was something she had always known; she had known it when it had first started, maybe even before. "Please Goku. I just know. I can’t explain it but please. Believe me." She whispered looking down at the ground. Vegeta cocked his head to the side. ‘Sounds like a saiyan’s instincts. But what are hers telling her?’ His eyes narrowed.

"Chichi may have promised not to kill that bastard, but I didn’t!" He growled. He stormed to the door. Bulma was out of her chair in an instant. "Vegeta please!" She cried. She sounded heartbroken and confused. Vegeta squeezed his eyes shut, stopping when she grabbed his arm.

Once again the feelings of Protectiveness for the blue-haired genius raged up in him, hotter than even his desire to be the strongest. He hadn’t ever thought or worried about how fragile she was before now…ever since his "two year anniversary" here he felt a terrible fear for her. The last person he had ever tried to protect was his father…

"Please Vegeta? Please don’t kill him, or hurt him, or even threaten him. I…this is about as important to me as becoming a super saiyan is to you." He looked down at her. Her face wasn’t bleeding, if he hadn’t seen it himself he would never have though she had been beaten only two hours before. "Becoming a super saiyan is my destiny." He said gruffly. "This is not your destiny." He brushed a few stray bangs out of her face.

There was a loud thud from behind them and they both turned to find Goku on the floor. "Unbelievable! He was telling the truth, I mean I didn’t doubt him but…Wow!" He looked pretty shocked. Bulma and Chichi exchanged puzzled glances. Vegeta raised his eyebrows. "Kakkorot? What the hell are you talking about you crack baby?"

"Tru…That kid from the future." Goku got up and pulled out a kitchen chair." He told me some pretty wild stuff but now it’s actually starting to make sense!" Goku blinked in shock. ‘Who would have ever thought? Bulma and Vegeta? But he sure is acting like he likes her! This is amazing!’ Bulma’s eyes widened in fear. "What kind of ‘wild stuff’ did he tell you?" She asked, slightly panicked.

"Well I can’t really say but…It’s one thing to hear about it…it’s something totally different to different to see it!" He scratched his head. "Wow." He muttered again. Vegeta shook his head. "Pathetic." He murmured. Suddenly the back door slammed open.

"Otousan? Kaasan?" Gohan’s young voice called. "Me and Mr. Piccolo are done sparring! Can I eat something now?" The tall namek and short demi-saiyan appeared in the doorway. "Sure Gohan-honey." Chichi said kind of distracted. Piccolo walked over to Goku and whispered, "Did you two enjoy yourselves?" Goku blushed a bright red. Vegeta coughed to cover his laugh. "Am I missing something?" Bulma murmured near Vegeta’s ear.

The tall namek shook his head, the saiyan prince turned away from her laughing, and the younger man shook his head violently. "No, no, Bulma! You aren’t missing a thing!" He placed his hand on the back of his head and gave an embarrassed smile.

"Hi Bulma!" Suddenly there was a blur of light and Bulma was knocked to the floor, Gohan’s arms around her waist in a hug. She gave him the best smile she could manage. "How ya doin’ kid?" She asked. "I was sparring with Mr. Piccolo! I got to throw rocks at him!" He said happily.

((Sorry! I couldn’t resist! It’s a private joke between my friends and I! I put that in just for you. You know who you are. ^.~))

"You did?" She said, trying to sound excited for the eight-year-old. "Did any hit him?" Piccolo growled. "Yeah! My first four hit him!" Goku and Vegeta snickered. Bulma looked over at Piccolo and noticed a purple blush staining his cheeks. "Gohan!" Chichi scolded. "That’s not nice at all! Say you’re sorry to Piccolo!" Gohan put on a puppy dogface. "Awww! Mom! Mr. Piccolo said I could!"

She stood with one hand on her hip, one held a wooden spoon and the other held a special frying pan. "That is no excuse. Say you’re sorry!" Gohan sniffled and Chichi’s eyes narrowed. Gohan, knowing when he was beaten, turned to his teacher. "Sorry Mr. Piccolo." He sniffed. Chichi may not have been fooled but Piccolo was a different matter. His face softened slightly. "It’s fine kid." He said gruffly.

Chichi nodded, Bulma giggled, Vegeta looked like it was killing him to keep his laughter in. "So what are you fixing for lunch Chi?" Goku asked curiously. "Kakkorot!" Vegeta snapped. "We were having an important discussion, remember?" He sparred a glance at Bulma who was attempting to rise from the floor.

Immediately he yanked his eyes away, because when Bulma got to her knees the slits on her sides hiked up a bit more. He coughed to cover his embarressment. "We…we don’t really have to have this discussion, do we?" She asked hopefully. "If you want him to live we do." He snapped. ‘Why is she so protective of him? Why can’t I just kill him?’ He paused a moment to think about the strong urge to keep her safe.

‘Why do I want to take care of her?’ It was confusing to say the least. He had always hated the blue haired genius before this, now all of a sudden because someone was trying to hurt her he gets all protective? No. Not trying to hurt her. They were hurting her. ‘It’s because I don’t believe in rape.’ He thought, more to convince himself than out of truth. ‘I wouldn’t want this to happen to anyone. It’s not just her.’

Goku watched Vegeta struggle with himself. He, better than anyone, understood the saiyan no Ouji. Although he was more curious than ever about what had happened, he decided to pay Trunks back for giving him the heart medicine that would save his life. ‘Chichi? Just go with me on this for now. I want Bulma to tell Vegeta about what’s been going on. Understand?’ He kept a close eye on his wife as she gave him a startled look.

‘Why?’ She asked giving him big brown puppy dog eyes. He winced. Did she have to look so cute like that? ‘Because. Bulma is probably the only one that can reach Vegeta’s heart. The boy from the future…the one that told us about the androids? His name is Trunks and he’s Bulma and Vegeta’s son…’ His telepathic conversation ended because of an earsplitting scream.

"WHAT?! WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY?!" she shrieked. Vegeta, Goku, and Gohan grabbed their ears in pain. Piccolo gasped and fainted. Goku tentatively reached up to check if his ears were bleeding, Gohan was crying, and Vegeta seemed to be trying to stay on his feet. "Chichi! What the hell was that!" Bulma hissed.

"G-Goku! What did you just say to me Goku?" She asked in an icy calm voice. He gulped nervously. "Umm. Chichi? Could we talk in private please? This is important." He grinned slightly and taking her arm pulled her into the next room. "What was that all about?" Bulma asked with wide eyes. "Ouch?" Vegeta said rubbing his ears. She giggled.

"Gohan? Are you ok, kid?" Bulma asked the crying little boy. He sniffed. "I’m in some major pain." He sniffled again. Bulma rubbed his back soothingly and Vegeta was suddenly struck with a though. ‘She will make a good mother someday.’ Vegeta shook his head.

"I pity the child you raise." He said out loud. He did have a reputation as a cold heartless bastard to protect. This whole day had worn him very thin. Her eyes snapped up. "Why?" Her voice was set in a false calm mode. Inwardly Vegeta smirked. She was going to start screaming in a minute and Vegeta was surprised to find he had missed it.

"You’re still easy to piss off." He said. Her eyes became a darker blue. "And you’re still a jerk!" She exploded. Vegeta smirked and Gohan cringed in fear as in the next few minutes they were subject to Bulma’s ranting and screaming. "You bastard!"

Vegeta found it much easier to deal with the woman when she was screaming, unfortunately, that didn’t last. "Do you think I really need this?!" Her cheeks were red and tears were now streaming down her face. He felt a flash of guilt. He had been trying to make himself comfortable, not really caring if he hurt her or not. He plastered a scowl on his face. "Do you think I care?" He snapped. ‘Shit. That’s not what I meant.’ He felt furious that the woman could keep him in a perpetual state of confusion. She shook her head.

The room fell into an uncomfortable silence. Bulma sat at the table tapping her nails restlessly, Gohan retrieved a glass of water for his still fallen teacher, and Vegeta just stood looking out the window. The silence began to eat at him. He hadn’t meant to make her cry. She pissed him off but he would not deny that he had, and still did, feel a terrible feeling of Protectiveness. The silence was killing him! He strode over to the counter and turned on the radio.

"A new request, "Two beds and a coffee machine" by Savage Garden. Here we go." The music started, soft and slow.

And she takes another step,

Slowly she opens the door,

Check that he is sleeping,

Pick up all the broken glass and furniture on the floor,

Been up half the night screaming now it’s time to get away,

Pack up the kids in the car,

Another bruise to try and hide,

Another alibi to write.

The tapping of Bulma’s nails against the table was gone and Vegeta knew she was listening. What a song to play at this particular time!

Another ditch in the road,

You keep moving,

Another stop sign,

You keep moving on,

And the years go by so fast,

Wonder how I ever made it through.

He heard a tiny sob escape the woman’s mouth. He felt a well of frustration run through him. Even if he could keep her safe from her father, he couldn’t stop the pain. Why did he care anyway! If he had known how protective he would become of her, would he still have saved her? Yes. He couldn’t just leave her like that.

And there are children to think of,

Baby’s asleep in the back seat,

Wonder how they’ll ever make it through this living nightmare,

But the mind is an amazing thing,

Full of candy dreams and new toys and another cheap hotel,

Two beds and a coffee machine,

But there are groceries to buy,

And she knows she’ll have to go home.

Quietly he grabbed a box of tissues. He moved over to her and placed it one the table beside her. The movement caused her to turn her head and stare up at him. He felt her eyes on him as he moved over to the sink and pull out a cup. He filled the cup with water, then brought it to the table and placed it in front of her. He sat next to her and tried to ignore her surprised stare.

Another ditch in the road,

You keep moving,

Another stop sign,

You keep moving on,

And the years go by so fast,

Wonder how I ever made it through.

Bulma worked to sort through her confused feelings. First he saves her, then he promises not to leave her, then he fights with her and tells her he doesn’t care about her or her feelings, now he’s taking care of her? Her heart constricted with pain. She didn’t understand him! She couldn’t help it, she broke down into tears. Placing her arms on the table, she leaned her head down to rest on them and cried. She felt a hesitant, warm, hand rest on her back and begin rubbing it soothingly.

Another bruise to try and hide,

Another alibi to write,

Another lonely highway in the black of night,

But there’s hope in the darkness,

You know you’re going to make it.

Vegeta’s hand continued to rub her back carefully. She sniffed. She felt like her heavy burden wasn’t quite so hard. A line in the song caught her attention. ‘There’s hope in the darkness.’ Hope? Did she have hope? Bitting her lip she decided to test her "hope". She threw her arms around Vegeta’s neck and buried her face into his chest sobbing.

Another ditch in the road,

Keep moving,

Another stop sign,

You keep moving on,

And the years go by so fast,

Silent fortress built to last,

Wonder how I ever made it.

The music faded as Vegeta slid one arm around her shoulders, the other began patting her back. Bulma felt a relived shock. She had expected him to push her away! It was obvious that he was uncomfortable with the situation. But, even if he didn’t realize it, he was showing he did care. Suprisingly she felt a great reassurance that he would be there if she needed him.

As another song started the radio snapped off and both their heads turned quickly to see Goku, with his hand still on the dial, and Chichi, looking disgruntled. Vegeta’s arms immediately folded back across his chest and he glared at them, a slight blush gracing his tan skin.

Goku cleared his throat. "Bulma," He said. "Chichi and I talked about it and we think that the best idea is for you to tell Vegeta everything." Immediately Goku ducked behind Chichi for protection. Bulma stared at his, as if expecting him to say he was joking. Vegeta however, jumped up from his seat to glare at them both. "What the HELL makes you think I want to hear about it?!" He shouted. Gohan, from his seat on the floor, looked up at them in confusion. "What’s going on? Why does everyone keep shouting?" He looked at each of the adults in turn. He looked serious, much to serious for a child of eight.

Bulma looked over at him briefly then returned her attention towards her long time friends. "Why?" She asked, sounding surprisingly calm. "For one thing…"Goku started, but his wife cut him off. "Goku, wake Piccolo up. I think Gohan needs more training time." She said making a "shooing" motion with her hand. Goku bent down on the floor and attempted to rouse the downed Namek, but Gohan was up in an instant. "My mother, wanting me to train? Something’s up." He said crossing his arms. "What’s going on?" He looked really determined, and Bulma sighed.

"Gohan? I need to speak to Vegeta and your parents ok?" She bent down till she was eye level with him. "How about you ask Piccolo to take you up to Kami’s tower? Kami and Mr. Popo now a million stories. And Korin has some great food." Gohan watched her, knowing that something was different from the woman he had grown to know and love. Something bad had happened. As Piccolo groaned and stood up Gohan nodded though. He knew his parents would take care of Bulma, no matter what. Without so much as a good-bye he pulled his teacher out the door and into the sky.

Bulma turned back to the three people standing in the room. "Why?" She repeated. "Goku said earlier that he is as mad now as when Krillan died. And he doesn’t even know the whole story. I know that Vegeta has better control than Goku does, and I think that if he knew everything…" Chichi trailed off. It was almost unnerving the way Bulma watched her. She didn’t seem surprised or even upset. Which seemed to make Goku’s story more and more of a possibility. ‘Could Bulma and Vegeta really have a son together?’

Then she turned to look at Vegeta. He was taking in deep, even breaths while watching Bulma. "I think it would be safer for you and Dr. Briefs, if Vegeta knew rather than Goku." She finished quietly. Things were going to fast! Chichi placed a hand to her temple. She could feel a migraine coming on.

Bulma sat at the table and thought about her choices. She could try to deal with this on her own, then a memory of barely three hours before came to her mind. Her last attempt at doing things alone hadn’t turned out well to say the least.

She turned to her other choice. She could tell Vegeta everything then suffer in silence as he mocked her and laughed in her face. She could always just stay silent and not try to stop him…’NO!’ Her mind screamed. That was one thing she couldn’t do. Besides, it was out in the open now; she couldn’t do anything to stop them. Unless she went along with their plan and told Vegeta.

Bulma bit her lip. Deep down in her heart she wondered if he would really laugh at her. Now, after seeing how gentle and comforting he had been, she wondered if he would maybe, just maybe, protect and take care of her. Would he? She half felt that he might.

She turned to look at him and their eyes met. It was funny how she had never noticed how dark they were. They looked endless, like space, and she felt like she might fall into that emptiness. It would probably be safer than where she was and what she was doing. She sighed. If this was her option she could do it, but Vegeta had already stated that he didn’t want to hear it. That thought made her heart fall, and she turned away from him. "Vegeta doesn’t want to hear my story. And I don’t want to get him more involved, he has better things to do." She said quietly while looking at her hands.

Vegeta’s face pulled into a frown. ‘How dare she want to exclude me!’ He thought incredulously. ‘All I want to do is prot-‘ His thoughts cut off as he realized what he was thinking. ‘What the hell? The woman has gotten into my brain now! All I want to do is kill that bastard.’ He gulped. ‘Only because I don’t believe in rape, and so I can go back to my training in peace.’ He thought, hoping to convince himself. But a small part of his mind decided to speak up.

‘It’s true you don’t believe in rape, but mostly it’s because you don’t want it to happen to Bulma or Mrs. Briefs anymore. And because you miss fighting with Bulma, and watching her work on the Gravity Room, and listening to her beautiful voice, and seeing her…’

‘No! I don’t miss any of that! I am a Saiyan warrior! An elite! The prince for Kami’s sake! I do not miss a weak Chikyuu-jin woman!’ He fought back against the voice.

‘You’re lying.’ It said simply. ‘You love to see her angry, and to hear her fight back against you, you even love it when she wins because it proves she’s your equal in every way! And,’ The voice added sounding smug, ‘She’s so cute when she wins.’ The voice laughed and then retreated to the back of Vegeta’s mind.

However it had done its job. Vegeta was as confused as hell. He didn’t know what to say or do; he didn’t even know what to think. But he knew one thing, something both he and the voice agreed on, he wasn’t going to go train and pretend it wasn’t happening. He looked over at Chichi, who still had a hand to her head but was now looking for some headache medicine in the cabinet. He swept his gaze over Bulma, who was sitting at the table looking at her hands. Then he turned to Goku and realized the other saiyan had been watching him closely for several minutes.

"I’ll listen to her story." Vegeta announced calmly. Bulma’s head jerked up and again their eyes met. Vegeta found himself getting lost in those pools of Azure. ‘Beautiful.’ His mind thought. Perhaps the voice had been telling a bit of truth. She was quite a stunning creature. And she was most definitely a challenge to handle. Vegeta smirked. ‘This might not be so bad after all.’ He thought.

"That’s great!" Goku shouted sounding thrilled. "Go-chan, not so loud." Chichi complained. He offered her a soft smile. "Gomen, Koi." She blushed. ‘He picks the worst times to…’Chichi immediately cut off those thoughts. ‘Not now, later.’ She mentally admonished herself. ‘Bulma and Vegeta are my top priority…at the moment.’ She nodded her approval. Then her eyes widened as she realized she had not recapsuled the regeneration tank. It needed at least two hours to purify the healing liquid before it could be used again. "Goku-chan! Will you go recapsule the regeneration tank? Gohan or Piccolo might need it when they come home." Then more to herself she added. "They better not." Goku nodded and left the room. Chichi turned back to Bulma.

"Bulma," She said hesitantly. "There’s another reason I would rather Vegeta knew. It’s because… well…Goku is sweet and innocent, I would prefer he stay that way." She looked at the floor hoping Bulma wouldn’t be angry with her. She felt a hand on her shoulder and looked up. Bulma smiled at her best friend. "It’s ok Chichi. I understand. There’s always been a calming part about knowing Goku. It’s because he is pure of heart and soul. I wouldn’t want him to lose that either." She embraced her friend. "They say ignorance is bliss. I guess they’re right!" She heard Vegeta mumble something under his breath, but she chose to ignore it.

Bulma sat on the end of the table as Goku returned with the encapsulated tank in his hands. He gave her his charming smile and she couldn’t help but smile back. Being around him made her feel safer, (that was no surprise!) but also it made her feel…just happy. Seeing such a close friend so cheerful in turn cheered her up. It made her forget her troubles, her worries…Bulma’s eyes suddenly widened. "Oh, NO!" She shrieked, jumping up as if the table had bitten her. "I have to go home right now!" She looked up at them desperately. Chichi looked shocked up and bewildered, Goku looked confused, and Vegeta was looking at her like she’d grown two sets of arms from her head.

"Please you guys! I can’t explain now! It-it’s to hard to explain, but please! I-" Vegeta cut her off. "Fine woman if we have to go back then we’d best get started." He walked over and scooped her up into his arms before she could protest. "We?" She asked weakly. "Yes we." He snorted. "You have a story to tell me. So let’s go." He nodded to Goku and Chichi then was gone. Only a trail of Ki, (and Bulma’s screams of fear) showed that he had been there at all.

"I hope they can get through this Goku-chan." Chichi whispered. He came up behind her and put his arms around her waist. "I know they can." He whispered back. Chichi sighed. ‘I hope you’re right Goku,’ She thought to herself, ‘I hope you’re right.’
