Wireless security is the notion of secure data broadcasts using the 802.11 technologies as an underlying base. The 802.11b technology specifically currently has an encryption standard called WEP (wired equivalency protocol) which is supposed to provide secure transfer of date. Around a year ago this encryption system has proven to be vulnerable to attacks designed by a couple of students in a university.
