Chapter 19

Megan watched Adam pull on his shirt. He looked over at her and grinned, she smiled back.

“What are you thinking about?” Adam asked, climbing off the bed and walking to where she was standing.

“Nothing really,” she said as he wrapped his arms around her, “I was just wondering… did you mean what you said last night?”

“What I said?” he asked, “You mean when I said that I love you?”

Megan nodded her head, “did you just say that or did you mean it?”

Adam took his hand and tilted Megan’s chin so her eyes and his were burning into each other.

“I love you Megan,” he told her, staring into her eyes, “I love you so much… you are so important to me.”

Megan smiled and kissed him. Their lips only leaving each others because of the phone ringing.

“Damn,” Adam mumbled.

“Sorry,” she whispered as she walked to the phone.

“Hello?” she asked.

“Hey Meg, it’s me,” Jason said. Megan could tell he was on his cell phone and Megan took a sigh of relief, that meant he wasn’t back at the hotel.

“Hey Jay, where are you?” she asked, looking over at Adam.

“Yeah, remember that blonde?” he laughed into the phone, “Well, I’m at her place.”

Megan sighed, “Well Jay, aren’t you wild? You have a good time?”

“Nothing happened,” he said, “We ended up talking and I fell asleep on the couch.”

“Ok, I believe that,” Megan laughed into the phone, “So when are you gonna be back?”

“We’re going to go out for breakfast,” Jason told his cousin, “So probably not for a few hours.”

Megan smiled over at Adam, “Ok, that’s cool. I’ll be here see ya then.”

“Wait, Meg,” Jason said loudly into the phone, “Have you seen Adam?”

Megan bit her lip as she looked over at Adam who was sitting on the bed. She was an awful liar, and for some reason she had been lying a lot lately.

“Hey, Meg, you still there?” Jason said into the phone.

“Yeah, sorry,” she said lowly, still nibbling on her lower lip.

“Have you talked to Adam?” he asked, sounding a little annoyed for having to ask again.

“We were watching a movie when we got back last night, I fell asleep and when I woke up he was gone,” Megan lied, “Did you try your room?”

“Yeah, he wasn’t there,” Jason said, “He probably went for a workout or something. I’ll see you when I get back, bye Meg.”

“Bye Jay, have fun,” with that she hung up and took a deep breath. God was she an awful liar.

“What did Jay have to say?” Adam asked from the bed.

“He ended up staying at that girl’s place,” Megan said, “He’ll be back in a few hours. Am I the world’s worst liar or what?”

“You sounded cute,” Adam said as Megan crawled into his lap.

“I may have sounded cute, but I still can’t believe Jay doesn’t realize I’m lying to him,” Megan said.

“Your cousin’s dense,” Adam laughed, “That’s definitely lucky for us.”

Megan laughed, “I guess you’re right.”

“So did Jay say he wouldn’t be back for a few hours?” Adam asked with a mischievous look in his eye.

“Yeah, why?” Megan asked, not even needing to ask.

”Oh well, it just gives us some… time,” Adam said, kissing Megan’s neck.

“Well then,” Megan grinned, “since we have time, how ‘bout a shower?”

Adam’s smile grew wider, “I’m right behind you.”
