Blender is a beautiful peice of art for creating 3d models and animations.

It just happens to be free and frankly it is brilliant. I have tried a few others but I am well and truly a blenderhead now.[ Although there are a heck of a lot more of bigger blenderheads than me.

Although it is easy to use blender, initially you will be completely stuck by a wacky interface. Don't lose heart. You will learn the new interface and once you have found your way round it you will realise that it has been designed to be very ergonomic and easy to find things around. No need to dive through nested menus.
