98 Degrees

The group is 98 Degrees. These Ohio four-some are both talented and very hott! Yup~ Justin Jeffre, Jeff Timmons, and Nick & Drew Lachey are the degrees of 98! Jeff Timmons (the founding member) decided he wanted to form a band after him and his buddies sang to a couple of girls one night. So- he dropped out of school and went to California! He was in a band with his brother and some friends called "Just Us." When one of the member of that group quit, they needed to find a replacement! So Jon Lippman, a current member of the old group, suggested they give hid old classmate Nick Lachey a call! When Jon called Nick up, Nick sang for Jeff and Jeff sang for Nick! At first, Nick was a little skeptical! He was, after all, studying sports medicine at the University of Miami in Ohio. But he went out to LA then! Then, another member quit, so Nick suggested they call his old classmate Justin Jeffre! Justin was out majoring in history at this time! But when they called him, he came out to LA to live his dream! So it was Jeff Timmons, Nick Lachey, Justin Jeffre, and Jon Lippman! But, a couple of days before their sceduled appearance, Jon decided he wanted to pursue acting instead, so he bid farewell to the group as well! Now, desperately needing a fourth member, Nick made a call to his younger brother Drew, who was an EMT in Brooklyn, NY. After much consideration, Nick went and met Drew and drove out to LA while showing Drew their demos. That same day, or night, the 4 cuties went to a Boyz II Men Concert! They somehow planned on going backstage and meeting their admirers! So they decided to sing their way backstage! As they were singing, they met their manager (Paris D'Jon)! So after that, they gor their record deal for Motown in April of 1996! Their first debut cd "98 Degrees" came out in 1997, but came back out in 1998 with a different song added! Their first hit single was "Invisible Man" and "Was it Something I Didnt Say?" from their first album. In late 1998, their second cd "98 Degrees and Rising" was released! Their singles from that cd were "Because of You," "The Hardest Thing," and "I Do (Cherish You)." Then, in October of 1999, they released their Christmas cd, "98 Degrees...This Christmas" with their hit "This Gift." Just recently, they came out with "Revelation," their 4th cd. The album already has 2 hits! "Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche)," and "My Everything." Lets hope that 98 Degrees stays around for lots more years to come and has much success!
