In 2003 Jenna received the UK Department of Trade and Industry award
for Innovation in Lingerie Design and
Entrepreneurship.
She was promoted as a womenswear desinger and a "hot entrepreneur" by
Oxford Entrepreneurs. Her
collection in the “Flaunt It” 2004 fashion show at the Oxford Union,
sponsored by Swarovski Crystal, was described by The Oxford Student
as “sumptuous and individual, winning the hearts of most of the women
in the audience.” (20 May, 2004)
Alongside her academic
studies at the University of California at Berkeley, (BA Honors in
History, 2001) and post-graduate work at Oxford University, Jenna
trained in design at the Cornish College of the Arts, Seattle, 1997;
Central St. Martins College of Art and Design, London, 2003; and
DeMontfort University, Leicester, 2004. At DeMontfort University she
studied with David Morris, known in the industry as “the wonderbra
guru.”
Her interest in lingerie design was cultivated whilst on a scholarship
in Rome in the summer of 2001. Upon her return to the United States she
began working for Banana Republic, a division of Gap Inc, before going
to Paris in January 2002 to attend the Salon Internationale de Lingerie
et Interfiliere and the Premiere Vision lingerie and textile shows.
Remaining in Paris to learn about French textiles, she created a
collection of her own. In Paris she worked for LAVA, an art and fashion
consulting company. Jenna is currently doing design work in New York,
as well as market research so she will be better able to bring better, more beautiful lingerie to the
people. hooray!
