Doops

This very simple app is just a basic predator/prey relationship. It demonstrates simple hunting and pack forming characteristics, and basic parthenogenic reproduction.

Doops2

Doops2 is much more complicated, and demonstrates a multilayered ecosystem. It is best run at 800x600, and will show signs of distortion at different resolutions.

Evo_dem

A newer program, this demonstrates simple arbitrary evolution. The demo begins with only one individual, which then reproduces, turning into different species (color coded) due to random genetic mutations.

Below this point, all further programs are working versions, still in progress. They represent the series of steps leading up to and going into my newest project, which encompasses evolution, maturation, metabolism, natural selection, and rudimentary decision-making, as well as the typical predation and reproduction. Not all of these programs are fully-featured, and as they represent a sequential series of steps in the making of this program.

2sp-B.zip

This archive contains a very early working-version of this program. It demonstrates on the ability of the program to read genomes from external files (source available, but not included)

3sp-B.zip

This archive contains a more sophisticated version of the above, with an extra species introduced, forming a full (if rudimentary) producer/herbivore/carnivore ecosystem. It includes full source and basic documentation.

3sp-ME.zip

Similar to the above, but includes code to allow genetic mutations (still strictly parthenogenic, so sexual crossover isn’t implemented). There is also a series of demonstrative screenshots, full source code, and basic documentation. Press <F1> for help and keyboard controls.

**When you first load this program, you need to press <Home> to reset the creature genomes. If you don’t do this, all plants will die after 200-500 frames.**
