Rico, USA), Master in Mathematics (1963, Academic Award to Best Student,
Academic Award to Best Graduate Student, Universidad de Puerto Rico,
USA), “Licenciada en Matemáticas” (1971, Universidad
Complutense de Madrid, Spain), “Licenciada en Psicología”
(1981, Sobresaliente con OPE, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid,
Spain) & “Doctora en Psicología” (PhD in Psychology,
1985, Sobresaliente Cum Laude, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid,
Spain).
- Visiting Assistant Professor at Purdue University (USA) in the Quantitative
Psychology section, obtaining the Benjamin Winer Award, 1987-1988.
- University Professor since 1963 obtaining a tenured position at the
Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) in 1986
within the Mathematical Psychology Department (the present Methodology
for the Behavioral Sciences).
- PhD Dissertation: Psychophysical Function and Olfactory Sensitivity
Measurement (“Función Psicofísica y Medida de la
Sensibilidad Olfativa”).
- Ninety one publications within the methodological area, mainly concerning
sensory and cognitive psychophysics (45 in Spanish and 46 in English
in relevant journals or publishing houses as Silver Burdett, The College
Mathematical Journal, North Holland, Quality and Quantity, International
Journal of Psychology, Current Psychology of Cognition, Luxembourg Office
for Official Publications of the European Communities, Appetite, Chemical
Senses and Psicothema). Main research subjects: Sensitivity Measures,
Psychophysical Models, Sensory Evaluation of Food, Sensory Evaluation
of Indoor Air, Personality and Psychophysics and Ageing and Neurodegenerative
Diseases in most senses (olfaction, taste, vision, touch and audition),
in time perception and in cognitive mapping.
- Participant in 26 European and Spanish Financed Research Projects
(being Main Researcher, Collaborator in charge of Data Analyses or Psychophysical
Expert).
- Participant and/or organizer of 99 National or International Research
Meetings, Congresses, Symposia, Thematic Sessions, Oral Presentations,
“Mesas Redondas”, Discussion Groups and Conferences for
Visiting Professors. Eighty four of them concerned sensory or cognitive
psychophysics.
- Twenty five conferences, thirteen of them given at Universities or
Research Centres outside Spain.
- Advisor for eleven Doctoral Thesis in Sensory or Cognitive Psychophysics.
