The Treble

Few teams have accomplished the deeds of Manchester United and even fewer teams can stand up to their caliber of football. For Manchester United, the season that will stand out in history is 1999. It was in this season that Manchester United achieved a goal that was called "the impossible dream": The Treble. The treble consisted of winning three trophies. First a team would have to win the English Premier League, one of the toughest leagues in the world. Secondly, a team would have to win the FA Cup, one of the oldest and most competitive tournaments in football. Finally a team would have to win the European Club Chamions Cup or Champions League. This was the most famous tournament in club football. The best of the best in all of Europe would compete against eachother for the title of "European Champions". In 1999 Manchester United achieved "the impossible dream" becoming the first team to win the treble. No other team in the history of football has achieved this goal.
