giFT broken by Kazaa/Morpehus 1.3.3

Synopsis

The latest version of Kazaa and Morpehus, version 1.3.3 has broken giFT. We can no longer connect to the network and communicate with other supernodes or nodes. We believe that the protocol was changed in such a way that you must now log into a central server to get a new "key" for generating the cipher state for encryption and decryption. This was a bad move by FastTrack, as it now makes it's network reliant on a centralized server, and possibly puts them in a situation similar to Napster.

After further analysis of the new protocol it has become apparent that 1.3.3 uses a new encryption algorithm. We have tested data sent from the official clients and we cannot discover a cipher state from it. This means that it is back to square one with reversing the protocol. We will keep this page updated as new information arrives.

giFT, general interface to FastTrack or giFT isn't FastTrack is a client that uses the Kazaa/Morpheus/Grokster peer-to-peer file sharing network, it is intended to be used on linux. The FastTrack network (http://www.fasttrack.nu/) is a peer-to-peer network for sharing files. It provides search facilities, and has a 2 level hierarchical scheme for organizing peers.

This service is OS independent. Which basically means anyone can use this. However, if you're using Windows, it might be best to use the Morpheus client itself.
