When David asked me to marry him-I was extremely surprised! We had been planning a trip to Denver on October 20, 2006 for a CR conference but the weather turned really bad early that morning and kept getting worse. We left work early, hoping to get across Rabbit Ears Pass before they closed it. I remember watching David drive and asking him why he was nervous. Little did I know! We checked in to our hotel and then went out to dinner. David took me to a very nice restuarant with an excellent view of Denver at night, Simm's Landing. We were seated in a semi-circle booth lit by candlelight. Halfway through our meal, David slid out of the booth and came around to me. I did not understand what he was doing, so when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, I put my hand over his mouth and said "No, no, no, get up, GET UP!" Of course, he thought I was saying "no" to his proposal which definitely was not the case. To his relief and my joy, the answer was "YES" and now we await the big day! |
