I have always been surrounded by the artistic world. My brother is a wonderful artist and graphic designer, my grandparents own and run their own photography studio, and the rest of my family is very musically inclined. From a young age I showed great creative ability and interest.
When I was in elementary school I took art classes and won several awards for my work. In middle school and high school I focused my artistic attention towards music. While in high school I worked at my grandparent’s photography studio and I developed a love for photography and design. In my junior year of high school, I joined the yearbook staff. Yearbook heightened my interest in photography and sparked my passion for graphic design. Many of my layouts were used as examples for following editions. In college I continued to grow in my creativity and wanted to do more. I became Vice-President of an organization. I was responsible for all advertising related to the organization. These responsibilities included posters, business cards, t-shirts, web pages, and much more. I also assisted a few of my teaching friends with handouts for their lessons. Several of my handouts are now being used all over Corpus Christi.
I soon realized that my hobby could be formed into a career. I feel I am very versatile. I’ve dabbled in several different types of media. Most of my skills are self taught, and a lot of trial and error type learning. I love the graphic and web industry. It is constantly changing and there will always be something new to create or learn. Based on the resources I have had available and having no real training in graphic/web design, I believe my work is well above average. I have no doubt that with more guidance and teaching that I will be amazing.
